Join us for an intimate, one-of-a-kind afternoon with award-winning poet Lucia Morciano. Experience the joy of words at this unique poetry event, where a talented poet becomes your personal wordsmith. On the last day of Lucia’s solo visual poetry exhibition at the Makers' Studio at Bruce Castle - In Bloom - meet the artist, share a story or memory about an inspiring woman in your life - or you! - and enjoy the fleeting moment with her as you watch your thoughts transformed into a bespoke, heartfelt poem created there and then. Just for you! Expect warmth, spontaneity, and that unique feeling of being truly seen. Perfect for all ages and completely free, this interactive experience brings poetry to life in the most personal way. This is a drop-in event on a first-come-first-served basis.

Reminiscence Café: Roll up for the Circus! Image Annabel Mon, 03/23/2026 - 11:00 Tuesday 14 April 2026, 2.00pm to 4.00pm Free, all welcome. No booking required. Refreshments included. We may be forgiven for thinking of the Circus as old hat, with its dubious animal acts, but today’s version is even more entertaining and exciting. Acrobats and trapeze artists, jugglers and dancers offer daring and amazing feats, putting on a show and telling stories without words. The international Cirque du Soleil is a prime example, but much nearer to home we have our very own Jackson’s Lane Arts Centre teaching circus skills and putting on performances, with young people to the fore. You can find out more about Jackson’s Lane from the current exhibition in Bruce Castle. We may not have learnt circus skills when young, but we probably have childhood memories of the Big Top, with its mix of fear and fun, of dare devil trapeze artists and crazy clowns. And don’t forget there was the long tradition of the travelling circus overwintering in Tottenham, arriving in a triumphant parade of acts along West Green Road. For a while the circus was a local annual event – do you remember going there? And did you enjoy It? Come to the museum and share your memories over a cup of tea. Discover the hidden history of Tottenham and Philip Lane. Join your guide and local historian Oona Kelly on this hidden history walking tour of Philip Lane in South Tottenham. On the way, she will reveal intriguing stories of those who once lived there - including a king, crooks and a coffin maker. Some of them played important roles in shaping the lives of people and impacting on world events. Meeting point: 11am by the Old Well at the junction of Philip Lane and Tottenham High Road, N15 4JN . The walk will take 2 hours and ends at Downhills Park. Please dress for the weather and wear sensible footwear for walking. Please book your free ticket for this walking tour via Eventbrite. This walk is organised by Bruce Castle Museum & Archive with Oona Kelly, local historian and a Friend of Bruce Castle (FoBC). (Donations on the day of the walk to FoBC welcome.) The Spurs Secret History Walk Image Annabel Fri, 04/10/2026 - 13:33 Sunday 3 May 2026, 10.30am to 12.30pm Historical Walk discovering places and stories associated with past great footballers and Tottenham Hotspur FC from 1882 to present day The walk begins at Bobby Buckle’s House - White Cottage, 7 White Hart Lane, ​the first official recorded address of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club– just around the corner from the Spurs Stadium and historic Percy House. This historic walk shows how the birth and growth of THFC from 1882 to the present day is entwined with the local history of Tottenham. It links the Antwerp Arms community pub, the area around the Bruce Castle Park and All Hallows church in this fascinating historic “Olde Tottenham” village area. Peppered with fascinating facts about the area’s history, your free tour will be entertaining and informative. The route follows White Hart Lane taking in where Bill Nicholson once lived, through Tottenham Cemetery and finally where it all began at the Church of All Hallows. From Bruce Castle Park, the walk ends at the Antwerp Arms by 12.30pm. Spaces are limited.

Explore this wonderful historic area on walks, talks and visits! 10.30am: SHH! The Spurs Secret History Walk, starting from Bobby Buckle’s house, 7a White Hart Lane, N17 8DU. Free tickets must be booked via Eventbrite. 11am: Walks and talks at Tottenham Cemetery Chapels with the Friends of Tottenham Cemetery. 12 noon: Bruce Castle Museum & Archive opens. Free curator-led tours every 45 minutes. Meet the artist (Sam Schneider) in the Makers' Studio all afternoon. 12 noon: The Antwerp Arms opens. 12.30pm: Heritage Walk: In the Footsteps of William Bedwell, Vicar of Tottenham starting outside All Hallows Church, N17 7AA. Heritage Walk: In the Footsteps of William Bedwell, Vicar of Tottenham Image Annabel Fri, 04/10/2026 - 14:26 Sunday 3 May 2026, 12.30pm to 1.30pm Follow in the footsteps of William Bedwell, 17thC Arabic Scholar & Vicar of Tottenham with specialist historian and guide Samantha Brown Why not join specialist historian Samantha Brown on this guided circular tour as she follows in the footsteps of William Bedwell (1563-1632) - the most important English Arabist of his time, and also the vicar of All Hallows Church. If you wanted to learn the Arabic language 400 years ago, you wouldn’t find the best teacher at a prestigious school or historic university… you would find him at his vicarage, on what is now White Hart Lane, in Tottenham. Discover more about Bedwell's story on this walk as Samantha takes you back to the 17th century to paint a picture of his life in the area, pointing out places and assocations with him along the route, which put Tottenham on the map as a European centre of Arabic learning in the 17th century. Spaces are limited. Booking your free place is essential via Eventbrite. Meet: outside All Hallows Church, N17 7AA (circular tour ends here to go inside the church) Dress for the weather and footwear for walking, stay hydrated (carry bottled water), bring a hat or sun block.
