About this event
Community Storytelling Truck Art: Embossing foil art with Sunbul Akhtar Image Annabel Thu, 07/09/2026 - 16:36 Sunday 26 July 2026, 2.00pm to 4.00pm Make your own truck art for South Asian Heritage Month 2026! Free, all welcome. All materials provided. No experience required! Book your free ticket via Eventbrite to ensure your place. Some spaces available for drop-ins on the day. Throughout South Asia, trucks, buses and rickshaws are decorated with metal sheets, embossed with iconic South Asian designs and painted in bright colours. Truck art has come to tell the story of the trucker, and their hometowns. Using this art form to tell the stories of residents in Haringey, join local artist Sunbul Akhtar (@nightpress) for a drop-in craft session to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month. You will emboss thin metal sheets with a design that represents your own story. Organised by Bruce Castle Museum and Archive with the artist Sunbul Akhtar and the Culture Team, Haringey Council.
