The Enemies of Turin are a band untethered by convention—every performance a raw, unrepeatable collision of sound and instinct. Nothing is scripted; everything is discovered in the moment. It’s a conversation of pure listening, where each musician leans into the unknown, shaping and reshaping the music as it unfolds. Though the five members have crossed paths in various projects, tonight they come together in a fresh formation—an uncharted meeting point that promises something entirely new, never before heard. Audiences can expect a thrilling, one-off experience: a surge of beat-driven electronic improv jazz, where genres dissolve and reassemble in real time. Towering grooves, thunderous basslines, razor-sharp hooks, and shimmering electronic textures intertwine to create vast, immersive soundscapes that pulse with energy and unpredictability. At the helm of rhythm is Jack Yardley, an award-winning London-based jazz drummer, composer, and educator whose playing is as bold as it is inventive. A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and recipient of the Help Musicians Postgraduate Jazz Award, Yardley has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of contemporary jazz. As the driving force behind the project Ken Hoon, and a regular presence at some of the UK’s leading jazz venues, his performances are marked by precision, creativity, and a fearless sense of exploration.

Kokomo

British soul pioneers, KOKOMO, built their reputation and loyal following through the immensity of their live shows. Featuring some of UK's finest musicians and vocalists, recruited from bands such as Arrival, Joe Cocker's Grease Band, King Crimson..., who shared a deep passion for American Soul music, Kokomo were in a class of their own and in 1975 took London by storm! They joined the seminal 'Naughty Rhythms' tour alongside Dr Feelgood and Chilli Willi & the Red Hot Peppers, and the band's debut album is now considered a classic among collectors. A series of packed reunion gigs in 2014 with seven of the ten original members proved that Kokomo's reputation as one of the finest 'groove' units ever to come out of this country remains largely intact. In November 2015 Kokomo were back with their old touring partners - the Average White Band in "Soul Summit" that sold out London's Royal Festival Hall. With the fire reignited, this show promises to reaffirm Kokomo's position as a powerhouse of live 70s soul. Pixie Anam (formerly Pixie and The Gypsies) are embarking on a new chapter in their history, with a name change to capture their creative evolution across a decade-long musical journey. Originally formed as a gypsy jazz quartet, different influences and experiences have led the band to experiment with an increasingly broad palette of sounds, with their latest album, ‘Slice Of Life’, taking inspiration from the worlds of blues, folk and cinematic jazz. The band’s witty lyricism, melodic strings and infectious rhythms remain, but the sound has grown from its traditional roots into something more expansive. A wall of lush chords, bluesy violin, and lilting, honeyed vocals are the hallmarks of their recent release, with its haunting vocal harmonies underpinned by rich basslines, vibrant percussion arrangements, and lyrical storytelling that is more powerful than ever. Hugo Jennings Big Band

The Hugo Jennings Big Band is fast gaining a reputation as one of the most swinging and unique voices on the London jazz scene. This performance will see some of the very finest musicians in Britain perform a broad variety of repertoire, including scenes from Jennings's new show "Romeo and Juliet in Swing", featuring original arrangements of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. They will also perform arrangements from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Oliver!, and the Sound of Music, as well as big band classics from the Duke Ellington and Count Basie Orchestras, the Dizzy Gillespie big band and Terry Gibbs Dream Band, and much more. The Hugo Jennings Big Band features an all-star lineup of some of the most established names in British jazz today, alongside many of the shining young talents of the London scene. They will be presenting a broad programme of original arrangements as well as classics and hidden gems from the 20th Century big band repertoire. For the first time since its premiere at the Clapham Grand to open the 2026 Battersea Jazz Festival, the band will perform material from "Romeo and Juliet in Swing"; Jennings's brand new show featuring original jazz arrangements of music from Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet", described as "a unique and fascinating project which most certainly deserves a far wider audience" by UKJazzNews.

IMC Present: A Jackson Odyssey

Following over fifteen sellout shows, IMC return to PE Holborn with a brand new one. This time the dynamic 11-piece collective will celebrate the most iconic and influential family in pop music history. A Jackson Odyssey takes you on a whistle-stop journey through fifty years of incredible songs that have shaped generations; all infused with IMC’s trademark deep funk, jazz harmonies and stunningly soulful vocals. From the Motown magic of the Jackson 5 through Michael’s pop and funk mega hits to Janet and La Toya’s legendary R&B floor-fillers, there’s something for every Jackson fan here. Established in 2017, the Independent Musicians Collective are a talented 10-piece vocal collective who perform with four piece band (keys, bass guitar, electric guitar and drums). They perform original vocal-driven arrangements, specialising in jazz, soul, blues, gospel, motown, disco, funk, house and pop anthems. They have performed on London Live TV, and in top venues including The Troubadour, The Hampstead Jazz Club, Wonderville London, Spice of Life and Soul Mama. After their last sell out show, The Dodge Brothers return to PizzaExpress Live Holborn to play a very special intimate show exclusively for PizzaExpress Live Holborn. Comprising Mike Hammond, Aly Hirji, (BBC film critic) Mark Kermode and Alex Hammond, The Dodge Brothers are a skiffle-and-blues band producing new songs written and performed in the old style, harking back to the days of jug-band blues and early rock'n'roll. Following their second album Louisa and the Devil ("Marvellous new record!' - Jools Holland) the band recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, USA (as documented on BBC Radio 2), and in 2018 released their forth album Drive Train described as "Essential Listening" by Whispering Bob Harris on his BBC Radio 2 Country Show. The Dodge Brothers are a skiffle-and-blues band producing 'tunes of proven merit' - new songs written and performed in the old style, harking back to the days of jug-band blues and early rock'n'roll. The band are: Mike Hammond (guitars, lead vocals, banjo); Aly Hirji (guitars, mandolin, vocals); Mark Kermode (bass, harmonica, vocals), and Alex Hammond (washboard, snare drum, percussion). The Dodge Brothers' music has an authentically American tang - lead guitarist/vocalist Mike Hammond was raised in Alabama and his youthful musical travels took him all over the southern and western USA - but with a strong British perspective.

We are delighted to present the leading American independent soul artist Cornell C.C. Carter, back by popular demand. Carter has had a meteoric rise over the past 5 years, but the talented singer and songwriter paid his dues for many years before that, first playing clubs in the Bay Area, while also becoming an A-list supporting vocalist for stars all over the U.S. But with his 2016 album In The Moment , Cornell moved to the front of the indie soul class, winning the SoulTracks Readers' Choice Award as Best New Artist, and beginning a string of successful album releases.
