London-based 'Connolly Hayes' have stormed onto the scene, captivating audiences with a fusion of rock, soul, and blues. This 5-piece powerhouse not only delivers raw energy and killer riffs but also the harmony of two exceptional voices. The band have swiftly become a must-see live experience. UK Blues Awards 2024 UK Emerging Act of The Year nominee ‘Connolly Hayes’ comprises Jess Hayes, Frankie Connolly, Beau Barnard, Joe Mac and Andy Wilder. 5 long-time friends playing a carefully curated blend of blues/rock/soul nationwide and further. The band released their Debut Album Remember Me in the summer of 20424, which was instantly chosen as ‘Pick of the Month’ by the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association in the UK. Their EP Live at Echo Zoo Studios came out in 2024. Jess and Frankie had already been making waves on the UK blues scene with their respective own projects, but in the summer of 2023, following a performance at the legendary Isle of Wight festival, the decision was made to combine the bands and start writing and recording new, original music. The band already has a stellar reputation for live performances with the blend of two of the most soulful voices around, keys & guitar wizardry and the grooviest rhythm section going. Anna Aarons' dedicated show in memory of the late, great Amy Winehouse celebrates its 10 year anniversary this year, as well as commemorating 15 years since the legend's passing. Returning to PizzaExpress Live with her 7 piece band, Aarons' show promises a thoughtful journey of Winehouse's catalogue, a comment on her musical influences as well as a portrayal of Winehouse's influence on Aarons as a songwriter. After multiple sold out shows, Aarons is delighted to bring back this highly regarded show to PizzaExpress Live audiences. Anna Aarons started her singing career as a busker on the London Underground. It was here that she often got likened to the late Amy Winehouse. This gave her the idea to produce a show that carefully covered all of Amy's catalogue while touching on Amy's legacy in between songs. Aarons presents the show as herself, taking audiences on a journey of Amy's repertoire, songwriting, influences, and Amy's influence on her own songwriting. The show covers hits from Frank, Back to Black, Lioness, as well as Amy's jazz and hip hop covers. Joined by a talented 6 piece band, the musicians delight with extraordinary solos and the musicality that Amy was committed to. In Memory of Amy is proud to be celebrating 10 years of the show this year, continuing to delight audiences who always comment with enthusiasm for the show; specifically how much the devotion to Amy as a musician really shines through.

Malcolm Strachan

Malcolm Strachan is a Scottish trumpeter, composer and bandleader whose music moves between contemporary jazz, funk and soul. A sought-after musicians whose credits include Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Jamiroquai and Corinne Bailey Rae, Strachan brings the same world-class musicianship to his own compositions. His latest album Look On The Brightside (May 2026) is his most groove-driven work yet, exploring funk, Motown and 1990s house, interpreted through acoustic jazz instrumentation. Malcolm Strachan is a Scottish trumpeter, composer and bandleader whose career spans contemporary jazz, funk and improvised music. Based in the UK and working internationally, he is known for his lyrical tone, strong rhythmic sensibility and long-standing commitment to ensemble-led performance. Alongside his work as a solo artist, Strachan has built an extensive career in the music industry, performing and recording with a wide range of artists across jazz, soul and popular music. His performance and touring credits include Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamiroquai, The New Mastersounds, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas and Craig Charles’s Fantasy Funk Band. His trumpet playing also features on studio recordings by artists including Jess Glynne, The Libertines, Lisa Stansfield, Martina Topley-Bird, Smoove & Turrell, Reverend And The Makers and EMF, reflecting a sustained presence across the UK’s pop, soul and independent music scenes.

Jack Wilson celebrates the launch of his debut album ‘The Bear And The Wolf’. Bringing together original music written over the past few years the project draws on jazz, electronic, folk and world influences, shaped by performances across the UK and Europe. Featuring a group of close collaborators, the evening will present music from the new album alongside brand new and old material. Jack Wilson is a London-based saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist performing across jazz, folk, and world music settings. A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Leeds College of Music, he has performed throughout the UK and Europe, including France, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Cyprus, and Sweden. On 26th June 2026, Jack will release his debut album, The Bear and The Wolf. Recorded in 2025, the album features original compositions written for his band and follows the release of the Jack Wilson EP. The EP was launched with sold-out shows at The Muddy Puddle and The Vortex (Downstairs), followed by UK tour dates in Manchester, Harrogate, and Ambleside. Jack has performed at festivals including the London Jazz Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Green Man, Boomtown, Shambala, Knockengorroch, and The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival. He has also toured with Palestinian violinist Akram Abdulfattah and appears on Akram Abdulfattah Live at Cambridge Folk Festival.

Nimbus Sextet Reimagines Massive Attack

Nuovi Fratelli presents a bold jazz reimagining of the classic genre-defying debut album 'Blue Lines', released by Massive Attack in April, 1991. The Concert is hosted by the renowned Jazz outfit, Nimbus Sextet. Bandleader Joe Nichols has written brand new arrangements for the show which present an expanded vision delving further into the samples used of classic jazz and soul recordings from Isaac Hayes, Billy Cobham, Tom Scott, Mahavishnu Orchestra and others. The performance will also feature guest singers Lissappear, Ant Thomaz, Ariane Mamon and Fraser McMillan in a unique show that celebrates a classic album in a very special way. One of the most innovative groups in UK jazz, Nimbus Sextet approach their music with a unique freedom, bringing jazz, rare groove, hip hop, electronic and world influences into their sound. Led by the quiet genius of keyboardist and composer/arranger Joe Nichols and featuring top level musicians throughout their line-up, the band have amassed an ever-growing following through two acclaimed albums for the legendary Acid Jazz label, DREAMS FULFILLED (2020) and FORWARD THINKER (2022), featuring luminaries such as Jackson Mathod and Nathaniel Cross on their tracks. In 2024, they unexpectedly dropped a simmering new cover of Roy Ayers’ ‘SEARCHING’ in collaboration with Nuovi Fratelli, a staple track of the year which hit the Jazz FM ‘A’ list with support from Gilles Peterson, Craig Charles and many more.
