Botanical eco contact printing - Sunday 7th June - 1pm

Name of class - Botanical eco contact printingHost name - Vanessa ReynoldsDate of class - Sunday 7th June 2026Time of class - 1pm - 4pm In this workshop you will learn how to create your own botanic eco contact prints onto paper, using only local plants, rust, compression and boiling.  These prints can then be used as you like e.g. simply framing them, painting on top of them, making cards, book marks, gift bags etc.  You will also use ready made paper whilst waiting for the boiling process to work it's magic, to make greetings cards, gift bags and cover notebooks.  You will reveal your beautiful, unique botanic plants before you leave. Your host will wash, dry and iron them ready for you to collect from shop in approximately three days following the workshop. Everything you need is provided. Silver ring making: Sunday

Silver ring making Host: Ruth Patterson Cost: £39 In this workshop you will learn to create your very own simple sterling silver ring. Working with sterling silver we will use traditional jewellery making techniques to create a beautiful silver band ring for you to wear and take home. We will learn to size your ring and add texture the surface, the ring will then be soldered, after which you will clean, finish and polish your ring so that you can wear it . The course cost includes materials for one silver ring. Suitable for those aged 16 years and over. No previous jewellery experience is necessary, all materials to make your ring are supplied and all tools needed for the class will be provided for use during the workshop. As we will be working with tools, loose clothing should be avoided, closed toe shoes should be worn, if you have long hair it should be worn tied back and please remember to bring glasses if needed as we will be working with small objects. Adult crochet workshop (Granny Squares) Host: Shirley Mawhinney Time: 1pm -4.30pm Price: £20 (all materials are provided) In this workshop you will learn how to make 'granny squares'. You will be taught basic crochet stitches such as double crochet, half treble crochet, treble crochet. You will also learn how to read basic patterns. During this workshop we will talk about different yarns and how to make colour changes. This workshop is taught right handed. Adult beginners crochet coffee morning: Wednesday

Adult beginners crochet coffee morning Host: Shirley Mawhinney & Val Riddiough Time: 10- 12.30pm This is for adults (16+) who have never crocheted before or who are at the beginning of their crochet journey. It's a relaxed and very informal session. Shirley and Val, right-handed instructors, will be there to get you started and help you create a basic shape e.g. square, circle, love heart. You are also encouraged to bring along any crochet projects that you are currently working on that you'd like help with. This session is an opportunity to bring together beginners, and blether over a cuppa and biscuits. Yarn, hooks and materials will be available for you to use and we will offer advice and guidance on how to get your crochet projects started. This is not a structured lesson, so it's perfect for anyone who wants to just give it a go or even just get to know a bit more about crochet. Children's crochet (Toy making): Thursday

Children's crochet Host: Val Riddiough Time: 6pm - 8pm Price: £15 This workshop is for children who are aged 8+. Crochet requires a level of dexterity in their fingers that usually hasn't formed before age 8. We want children to have the best experience and not be put off learning this skill. This class is ideally suited to children who have already attended our Children's beginners classes or had a private lesson with us and/or have a good understanding of basic crochet stitches. This class is for children who are ready to move onto making toys and 3D shapes. They will be taught how to make an amigurumi practice ball in their first session and advised on which yarns to select and the wide variety of projects they can look forward to making. Examples of crochet toys will be displayed for inspiration as well as a supply of projects and designs which they can select from as they move forward on their exciting crochet toy making journey. All materials for your child to practice with are provided at the class. However, once your child decides on which project they would like to complete we will guide you on purchasing the required materials. If your child already has crochet hooks and yarn please feel free to bring them along. Crochet requires a level of dexterity in their fingers that usually hasn't formed before age 8. We want children to have the best experience and not be put off learning this skill. In this workshop children will learn basic crochet stitches including chain stitch, slip stitch, double crochet, half treble and treble crochet. They will be encouraged to combine these stitches to make a basic shapes such as squares, circles, flowers, love hearts. Children will be guided on choosing yarns and colours and shown some examples of things that they can go on to make using their shapes e.g. flowers, hanging decorations, blankets. All materials are provided, however if your child already has crochet hooks and yarn please feel free to bring them along. Fused glass workshop Host: Pauline Graham Time: 12.30pm - 3.30pm Price: £40 In this workshop you will be taken through the steps to create your own fused glass hanging cityscape, garden or underwater scene panel. You will design your own image, learn to score, cut and grind glass pieces and apply enamel paint. Your panel will be ready for collection from The Crafty Coo within one week.
