Introductions + Zazen

Thursday evening zazen.Introductions for newcomers begins at 6:50pmZazen begins at 7:30pm - be sure to arrive 10 minutes early as always.. we strike the han at 5 minutes to the hour. Our thursday evening meeting consists of 30 minutes of zazen, 5 - 10 minutes of kinhin , and 30 minutes of zazen followed by a chanting of the Heart Sutra.

Talks & Lectures

Zazen + Dharma Talk/training + Social

Our Friday evening schedule consists of : 6:30pm - 1 period of zazen of 30 or 35 minutes chanting of the 4 bodhisattva vows 7:05pm - a dharma talk, or training, or opportunity to ask questions 7:45pm (ish) - social time! a chance to sit around the table and eat chips and socialise :-)

Zazen + Samu + Coffee/Chat

Our Sunday morning schedule consists of 9:00am - two 30 minute periods of zazen with kinhin in the middle10:20am - chanting of the Heart Sutra, Sandokai / Hokyozanmai, and the dedication to the patriarchs/matriarchs10:40am - samu - some cleaning work practice. 10:55am - coffee/tea/biscuits and chat!

Rakusu / Kesa Sewing Day at the Dojo

This will be a Rakusu and Kesa Sewing Day at the dojo . The schedule will be as follows: Saturday 25th July 0800-0840 - Zazen 0840-0920 - Ceremony + setup sewing room + Tea/Coffee/Snacks 0930-1230 - sewing (with tea breaks) 1230-1330 - lunch break - please bring a packed lunch (or nip out to the shop for some fresh air) 1345-1600 - sewing 1630-1645 - clean up 1700-1730 - zazen Cost: If you contribute monthly to the London Zen Group, an additional contribution of £10 is suggested, if you do not contribute monthly, please consider £15 - obviously, this is a donation, so do contribute as you are able to afford. Please let Lana know if you need any materials - such as fabric - or a rakusu kit - Rakusu kits are £30 (payable to Lana) If you would like to attend, please register with Lana, - or- via our sewing whatsapp group
