The Swing Commanders

The Swing Commanders are a stunningly vibrant and versatile group that perform an exciting mix of 1940s Classics, Boogie-Woogie, Western Swing, 50's Jump Jazz and more! Every member of the Swing Commanders sings and plays at least one instrument, sometimes three! Yet what makes them stand out even above their incredible music ability and performing skills is their joie-de-vivre. People who experience the band for the first time are amazed at the energetic showmanship, the instrument swapping, the intricate arrangements, and sophisticated vocal blend. The Swing Commanders take well crafted songs from the thirties to the fifties, from American Songbook classics to Western Swing and Novelty songs, and overlay them with lush vocal harmonies and hot solos. Amphitrio – Traces Live

Amphitrio is an award-winning contemporary jazz trio from Bucharest, blending the atmospheric depth of Scandinavian jazz with the rich rhythmic language of the Balkans. Formed in 2023, the group brings together three versatile musicians with strong backgrounds in classical and alternative music. Their sound is cinematic, expressive and dynamic, shaped by original compositions and a deep sense of interplay. Following performances at major European festivals and an international tour across 11 countries, Amphitrio continues to captivate audiences with a fresh and distinctive voice on the contemporary jazz scene. Amphitrio is an award-winning contemporary jazz project based in Bucharest, Romania, initiated in 2023. The trio features pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex and percussionist Philip Goron, three musicians with strong backgrounds in both classical and alternative music. Their sound is defined by a unique blend of Scandinavian jazz aesthetics and Balkan rhythmic and harmonic influences, resulting in an expansive, cinematic and emotionally rich musical experience. Since its formation, Amphitrio has quickly gained international recognition, performing at major festivals such as Jazz in the Park, Gărâna Jazz Festival, Baku Jazz Festival and JazzFest Budapest. In 2024, the trio completed an extensive international tour across 11 countries, further establishing their presence on the European jazz scene, followed by appearances at key events in 2025.

London-based jazz vocalist Shany Moore brings a distinctive, blues-infused sound to contemporary jazz standards and classic repertoire. Known for her expressive phrasing, warm tone and engaging stage presence, she has performed at leading venues and festivals including the London Jazz Festival, PizzaExpress Live, The Bulls Head and TED Global, as well as internationally in Tel Aviv. Praised as the “fresh new voice of jazz,” Shany collaborates with some of the capital’s finest musicians to deliver dynamic, stylish performances that blend jazz tradition with soul and R&B influences, creating an intimate and memorable live experience. Shany Moore is a London-based jazz vocalist recognised for her emotive delivery, distinctive tone and fresh interpretations of contemporary standards. Her performances combine classic jazz sensibility with modern influences drawn from soul, rhythm & blues and blues traditions, resulting in a sound that is both rooted and current. Bad Girls Groove

The Bads are always in demand to play at clubs and festivals in UK and Europe and this is a great opportunity to experience this wonderful funky (and friendly) band up close in a club setting. Their music has always featured one quality above all others – viz. the groove, the whole groove and nothing but…! With some star session musicians and 3 stunning female singers upfront, this will be an evening of soul, blues, funk, jazz and just maybe a bit of country to touch your heart, soul and feet! Over the last decade, Bad Girls Groove (“The Bads”) have built an enviable reputation for their high octane vocal and visual performances both in the UK (Hard Rock Cafe, Blues Kitchens, Crypt - St Martins Trafalgar Sq., PizzaExpress etc) and in Europe, particularly at the Fete de la St Louis in sunny South of France and Cork Guinness Jazz Festival. Souled Out Disco Party Band

Souled Out Disco Party are one of the most renowned names within the industry. The band has performed alongside Sir Tom Jones, Jools Holland, The Darkness, Boney M, The Real Thing, Temptations, Edwin Star, The Four Tops, Three Degrees. and many more amazing artists over the past 20 years. Offering a large variety of music that you can't help but dance to. Souled Out Disco Party Band never fails to impress and are the perfect addition to any special celebration. Souled Out was started in June 1993 by Johnny Cat & Dave Fisher. The original idea of the band was to play top quality soul music in the local pubs, drink beer and have a bit of fun. After a few rehearsals, the name Souled Out was registered with the patent office and the band played their first few gigs. Word soon got round and bookings started coming in from such popular venues as The Starlight Rooms in Enfield and the Circus Tavern in Purfleet supporting all the main comedians - Jimmy Jones, Bobby Davro, Mike Reid, Michael Barrymore, Chubby Brown. Twenty years on and the band have gone on to play at venues like Birmingham NEC, Wembley Arena, Knebworth and Earls Court as well as all the top hotels in the UK and Europe including The Grosvenor Mayfair, The London Metropole, The Ritz in Portugal, Hilton Prague and are the only band to have played New Year's Eve at Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai three years running.

Peter Howarth

Peter has been the lead singer of the legendary Hollies since 2004. Over the past 35 years, Peter has written, recorded, played, sung, and toured worldwide with a variety of artists including performing on stage with Cliff Richard for 20 years. He has also enjoyed his time in theatre, playing the part of Roy Orbison in Bill Kenwright’s Only the Lonely. It was also for Bill Kenwright that he wrote the musical Robin Prince of Sherwood and took the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham in the West End and on tour. Peter Howarth, lead singer with The Hollies and West End star of Only the Lonely - The Roy Orbison Story, invites you to join him for an acoustic solo show as he performs some of the all-time favourite hits such as He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother, You Got It, and Pretty Woman. Michael Sarian's ESQUINA

Trumpeter and composer Michael Sarian, praised for his "endlessly renewable strain of lyric improvisation regardless of context or material" (Downbeat Magazine), was born in Toronto and raised in Buenos Aires. Based in New York since 2012, he has performed at iconic venues and festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Kennedy Center, Yankee Stadium, The O2 Arena, the Blue Note Jazz Club, and is now thrilled to add PizzaExpress Live to that list. Born in Toronto and raised in Buenos Aires, Sarian moved to New York City in 2012 and has since performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages, including the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the O2 Arena in London, and Teatro Colón in Argentina, as well as beloved NYC venues and festivals such as the Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, BRIC JazzFest, Festival of New Trumpet Music, the Beacon Theatre, Yankee Stadium, Barclays Center, and Central Park SummerStage. He has appeared on WNYC’s Soundcheck, NPR’s World Cafe, and more. Michael's artistic output is as diverse as his background.

Filomena Campus Quartet 'Theatralia'

Filomena Campus returns to The Pheasantry to launch her new album, Theatralia (33Jazz Records), with her all-star band: Steve Lodder on piano, Rod Youngs on drums, and Charlie Pyne on double bass. The set features original multilingual compositions co-written with Lodder and Pyne, including a solo vocal interpretation of a Jobim classic. Blending jazz, improvisation, and spoken word, the performance unfolds as a vibrant and theatrical musical journey. Campus draws audiences into the worlds of visionary women artists such as Niki de Saint Phalle and Franca Rame, the dreamlike realm of Shakespeare’s Queen Mab, the mythical Janas of Sardinian folklore, and the irresistible voices of the Sirens in Homer’s Odyssey. Award-winning vocalist, lyricist, theatre maker, and academic Dr Filomena Campus is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz. Born in Sardinia and based in London, she creates original work that brings together jazz, improvisation, theatre, literature, and storytelling. Jamie Lonsdale and Friends

Returning to the Pheasantry, join Jamie Lonsdale and his star performers for an uplifting evening of live music. Relax and unwind to love songs, and songs from the shows. A fabulous evening of entertainment for all, guaranteed to sell out as always so best buy tickets early. Having been Head of Choir at Pangbourne College, music went out of my life until the age of 38 when my neighbour Betty Bleakley bravely gave me singing lessons. Initially told by her that I had left it too late to sing opera, I put my name secretly down for a weekend opera course. 20 operas later, I enjoyed myself enormously, particularly singing three seasons at Grange Park Opera. Musical theatre included South Pacific at Grange Park, and the role of Captain von Trapp in London. I am so grateful to my singing teacher of 20 years Arwel Treharne Morgan. Several years ago, and much to my surprise, my first song came to me: “Streams”. Fortunate enough to meet the music director Robert Emery, we have collaborated since on piano accompaniment. His wonderful orchestral arrangements, recorded at Abbey Road Studios have led to some repeated exposure on BBC television and many radio interviews. Encouraged by Robert, I am now writing my fourth album of songs. Released albums are “A Journey”; “Footprints”; and “Freedom”.
