The Gin Chronicles at Sea

After last year’s ‘The Gin Chronicles: A Scottish Adventure’, The Misfits of London return to The Leatherhead Theatre with “The Gin Chronicles at Sea”, a vintage, radio-style comedy harking back to the Golden Age of The Goons, Tony Hancock, Noel Coward and general mid-century mischief and mayhem. After a surprise visit from his Aunt – a woman of teutonic girth and fearsome oratory – upper-class twit John Jobling decides he should take a holiday, opting for the delights of the Atlantic Ocean aboard one of the most luxurious passenger liners in the world. In a rare fit of common sense, Jobling insists his housemaid Doris Golightly accompany him. What should be a charming voyage across the sea with cocktails, lashings of shuffleboard and no necessity for amateur detection whatsoever becomes instead… well, it’s certainly not what Jobling & Golightly had in mind! This 25th production is a powerful and stirring reinvention of the show, celebrated the world over for its Grammy Award-winning music and the thrilling energy and passion of its Irish and international dance. Rehearsals will take place on Sundays @ Leatherhead Trinity School To be performed @ The Leatherhead Theatre. 7th -9th January 2027 Peter Pan An adaptation of J. M. Barrie’s story about a boy who never grew up. The three children of the Darling family receive a visit from Peter Pan, who takes them to Never Land, where an ongoing war between Peter’s gang of rag-tag runaways and the evil Pirate Captain Hook is taking place. See Hooks Pirates take on the lost boys in fun musical with classic songs and witty dialogue. AUDITION PROCESS: We hold open auditions so there is no need to book in. Simply turn up any time within the allocated time slot for your age group, sign in, and audition! You only need to attend one audition. The person auditioning will go into the audition in groups of approximately 15-20 people of a similar age group where possible (8-12yrs or 13-18 yrs/13-21yrs depending on show title).

SATURDAY JULY 25th We are seeking talented performers (must be aged between 7-15 years – school years 3 – 11 in Sept 2026) to join The Leatherhead Theatre pantomime company. Candidates must have good dance skills and a strong stage presence. We will be casting for both dancer/villagers. Ages 7 to 12 (nobody under 7 on Sept 1st 2026) ARRIVE FROM 10AM to be ready to DANCE for 10.30AM. AUDITION will last until approx 11.30AM. It’s a competition to name the 2026 Southern champions, who will represent the South in the National Finals back here on October 10th 2026. There are classes for Teens to Over 60s, men and women. The event starts with the preliminary judging at 1pm, followed by the evening show and presentation from 4pm. After the interview Mel will be available to sign copies of the book. About The Comeback The brand new novel from Sunday Times bestselling author Mel Giedroyc is a funny, big-hearted story of second chances. Sometimes life surprises you with an encore… Twenty years ago, aspiring performer Gill Piper boarded a bus out of Leatherhead with a spring in her step and stars in her eyes. Things didn’t quite pan out… Back home again, Gill finds much has changed. Young Lights, the youth theatre group which coaxed her out of her shell, is no more. The theatre itself, once the heartbeat of the community, now feels like a has-been; Gill can relate.
