LP Creatives and The Leatherhead Theatre, invite you to join the cast of ‘Beauty and the Beast’! SATURDAY JULY 25th We are seeking talented performers (must be aged between 7-15 years – school years 3 – 11 in Sept 2026) to join The Leatherhead Theatre pantomime company. Candidates must have good dance skills and a strong stage presence. We will be casting for both dancer/villagers. Ages 7 to 12 (nobody under 7 on Sept 1st 2026) ARRIVE FROM 10AM to be ready to DANCE for 10.30AM. AUDITION will last until approx 11.30AM. Ages 13 to 15 (max age year 11 in Sept 2026) ARRIVE FROM 11.30AM Ready to dance for 12PM. AUDITION will last until approx 1PM All selected children must be available for all show performances All candidates should wear comfortable (and suitable) shoes and clothing and be prepared to dance on their own. We look forward to seeing you there!! Please note that children remain the responsibility of parents during this time who are welcome to stay in the cafeteria area for the duration of the audition. The BNBF Southern Championship showcases the best natural bodybuilders in Southern England. It’s a competition to name the 2026 Southern champions, who will represent the South in the National Finals back here on October 10th 2026. There are classes for Teens to Over 60s, men and women. The event starts with the preliminary judging at 1pm, followed by the evening show and presentation from 4pm. The top 2 competitors will qualify to represent Southern England at The BNBF British finals on 10th October 2026. Come along to shout, cheer and support your local athletes. Exhibition on Screen: James McNeill Whistler

In an era of great change and great beauty emerged the character of James McNeill Whistler. Considered by some to be one of the great innovators of 19th century art, he was a contemporary of the Impressionists, much admired by Van Gogh and Manet. Boldly experimental and famously witty, Whistler disrupted the strict conventions of Victorian society in pursuit of a new cult of beauty, creating “art for art’s sake” and earning himself a place in the history of great art. He found a parallel between painting and music, and entitled many of his paintings “arrangements”, “harmonies” and “nocturnes”, emphasizing the importance of tonal harmony in his work. His most famous painting, Arrangement in Grey and Black No. 1 (1871), commonly known as Whistler’s Mother, is a revered and often parodied portrait of motherhood. It is arguably one of the most famous paintings in history and this film will unveil the artist behind the art. Tate Britain is now holding the first major retrospective of Whistler in three decades. This blockbuster exhibition promises to reawaken the world to just how important Whistler is to art history, uniting world-famous masterpieces with rarely seen works. Exhibition on Screen will bring these stunning works and the incredible story behind them to cinemas around the world while the exhibition is still running, bringing this truly global artist to a global audience.
