Twenty Years of the Met in Cinemas is a celebration of the Met’s two decades of onstage glory as experienced in cinemas, featuring highlights from the company’s collection of more than 185 extraordinary onscreen performances. Hosted by star soprano Renée Fleming, this special presentation will showcase unforgettable moments from some of opera’s greatest stars, selected from the series’ vast archive of broadcasts featuring such remarkable artists as Lise Davidsen, Natalie Dessay, Joyce DiDonato, Juan Diego Flórez, Elīna Garanča, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Jonas Kaufmann, Peter Mattei, Matthew Polenzani, Sondra Radvanovsky, Nadine Sierra, and, of course, Fleming herself. The Gin Chronicles at Sea

After last year’s ‘The Gin Chronicles: A Scottish Adventure’, The Misfits of London return to The Leatherhead Theatre with “The Gin Chronicles at Sea”, a vintage, radio-style comedy harking back to the Golden Age of The Goons, Tony Hancock, Noel Coward and general mid-century mischief and mayhem. After a surprise visit from his Aunt – a woman of teutonic girth and fearsome oratory – upper-class twit John Jobling decides he should take a holiday, opting for the delights of the Atlantic Ocean aboard one of the most luxurious passenger liners in the world. In a rare fit of common sense, Jobling insists his housemaid Doris Golightly accompany him. What should be a charming voyage across the sea with cocktails, lashings of shuffleboard and no necessity for amateur detection whatsoever becomes instead… well, it’s certainly not what Jobling & Golightly had in mind! Having originated as an interval performance during the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest. Riverdance has gone on to become a worldwide phenomenon. This 25th production is a powerful and stirring reinvention of the show, celebrated the world over for its Grammy Award-winning music and the thrilling energy and passion of its Irish and international dance. See the close-ups, the amazingly fast feet, the expressions and emotions of the dancers and musicians, and the creative camera angles that show the work more intimately and revealingly than is possible for an audience sitting in the stalls. A brief documentary detailing the history of Riverdance precedes the show. Kingston Chamber Concert Musical and Amicable – Mozart String Trios and Flute Quartet in D. Mozart’s sparkling first flute quartet (K285) was commissioned by amateur flautist Ferdinand De Jean and completed in Mannheim on Christmas Day 1777. His monumental Divertimento for string trio (K563) was composed in Vienna in 1788, with Mozart playing viola for the first performance. Meanwhile, over in England, the original Musical and Amicable Society was in full swing – a collective of musicians who met in the Cherry Street Tavern “for practice and recreation”!
