Positive Strides Cirencester

Positive Strides is a fortnightly walking group for men which focuses on improving mental health and wellbeing through walking and talking with others. At The Churn, we understand how important it is for men to talk openly about their mental health. Positive Strides provides a safe space where men can walk, talk and be heard by other men with shared issues and experiences. We meet on a Tuesday morning outside The Churn Community Hub. Walks start at 10am and finish around 11.30am.

In the Iron Age it was common to make small decorated versions of weapons such as spears and shields. In this workshop we will learn more about Iron Age culture as well as the dazzling hoard found near Cirencester that contains more than 100 silver coins as well as several of these mysterious votives. Then, have a go at making your own votives!

The remains of the ancient Roman town of Corinium lie beneath our feet as we walk around Cirencester. Join us to learn about the Roman archaeology of the town and key discoveries that point to this being one of the most vibrant and wealthy towns in Roman Britain. The walk lasts about an hour. Our Mum and Baby Group is a women only group run by the Family Team at The Churn Community Hub. It is an informal group for young mums who would benefit from some extra support with their babies. We offer play opportunities, advice, socialising, and individual support. We also have a Community Nursery Nurse who visits once a month to provide support and a baby weighing service.
