Warm Welcome Space

The Redeemer Warm Welcome space runs on Fridays during term time from 1-3pm. The space has been a national response to the cost of living and energy crisis; visitors are welcomed in for a hot drink, some cake and company. We have continued to have some regulars from the community who seem to find it a safe space which is so encouraging. Kinusaiga is a modern Japanese craft where patterns are built from small pieces of fabric tucked into carved lines on a soft board. Instead of stitching, the design is created by gently pressing each fabric fragment into place, forming a richly textured, layered picture. The result is a beautiful patchwork‑style artwork that blends traditional textile charm with contemporary crafting techniques. (In association with Friends of Wollaton Park) This small, quiet secluded space is cared for by a small group of dedicated volunteers who meet here on Saturday Mornings during the growing season from 10–12 for gentle gardening. Our aim is to keep the rampant weeds under control and allow the other plants both wild and introduced to thrive and gradually to add plants to restore and enhance the sensory and colour themes.
