Summer of Play at Erddig

Step into the carnival and get active on our family-friendly garden trail this summer. Test your skills at the coconut shy, try your hand at hooking a duck, and enjoy storytelling in our mini puppet theatre. You can also have a go at skittles, ring toss, pin the tail on the donkey, or limber up for the limbo. Alongside the carnival trail, there are plenty of creative activities to enjoy: Doodle Mondays on Mondays, 10am–5pm - a self-led activity where you can add your own creation to our wall of art; carnival mask-making every Wednesday, 11am–3pm and Fine Art Fridays every Friday, 11am-3pm 18 July, 1 August, 15 August, 11am-3pm: Face painting 18 August: Enjoy performances from Punch and Judy. There are three 20 minute performances between 1pm and 3pm. Activities are free to enjoy but normal admission charges apply, National Trust members enter for free.

MADE SIMPLE – FOR EVERYONE Have you ever paused on a walk and wondered, “What tree is this?” Or spotted a curious flower, unusual leaf, or animal track and wished you had someone there to tell you more? Walking with Trees are free guided walks through beautiful woodland and parkland. Usually taking place on the second Tuesday of the month, we visit a different country park or venue around the Wrexham area to discover beautiful wild places. This month’s walk takes place around Llwyneinion Community Woodland, Rhosllanerchrugog where we will get to explore the mixed native trees and wildflowers of this new community project. When you book your place we will send you full details of where we are meeting. Each month we’ll take our time exploring not just the trees, but all the wild wonders that catch our eye along the way. From wildflowers and edible plants to signs of wildlife and the changing seasons, we’ll follow our curiosity and see where nature leads us. Whether you’re brand new to the natural world or already have a budding interest, this is a relaxed, welcoming way to learn more and connect with the landscape around you.
