Family Creative Writing Workshop - Kick Off A Story

1876 Year of Wonder – Creative Writing: Kick Off A Story Travel back to 1876, when the Football Association of Wales was founded, and football was just beginning to capture the nation’s imagination. In this lively two-hour family creative writing workshop, we’ll create our own players to star in their own story, create our own commentary for our everyday lives or rewrite football chants and come up with a few of our own! Inspired by the 1876 Year of Wonder and the establishment of the Football Association of Wales in Wrexham! This session is open to all ages with no experience necessary, whether you want to write as a family or engage in storytelling. This session is flexible and contains family-friendly themes and tasks for all ages. What to bring: You can expect a guided creative writing session, with gentle prompts and inspiration. Please bring whatever you feel comfortable writing with (pen, notebook, phone, laptop etc.) and a drink. There will be a short comfort break in the middle and you are welcome to take a break anytime you need during the session. Language: The sessions will predominantly be held in English, using everyday Welsh but participants are welcome to write and take part in any language they are comfortable using. Access:This workshop is located on the ground floor. There is a ‘Changing Places’ accessible toilet on site. Free parking for blue badge holders is available in our multistorey carpark.

Got something broken? Bring it over and team up with fellow fixers to give it new life. Whether it’s gadgets, clothes, or furniture, this is your chance to learn, share, and mend in a fun, friendly setting. No tech skills needed—just a can-do attitude! Come hang out, chat, and help make waste a thing of the past. See you there for some hands-on repair magic! To book your item in, email us at , pop by ahead of the session during out opening hours, or fill in the first page of the form on Repair Cafe Wales’ website: https://repaircafewales.org/what-are-you-having-repaired-today/ Select the last location in the drop-down menu ‘Wrexham, Ty Pawb (Lend and Mend)’ and fill in as much information as your can about what’s wrong with your item. At the bottom of that first page select Save for Later and enter the email address to send what you’ve filled in so far to us! We’ll complete the rest of the form at the session. If you have skills that you’re looking to share, get in touch about volunteering. We’d love anyone with skills in sewing, electronics, bicycles, woodwork, computers, jewellery repair…or pretty much anything else! Please note: Repair sessions and kinds of repairs depend on the volunteer availability. Please get in touch with us ahead of the session to confirm we’ll have the skills available to help.
