Welcome Wednesday is a drop-in café session, facilitated by JCS volunteers! Each Wednesday from 12pm to 3pm anyone can drop in and enjoy socialising as well as refreshments, check out our menu! There’s no need to book, just pop by any time between 12pm and 3pm. Welcome Wednesday is open to everyone. With optional activity programme including a sing-along with Eddie Binnie twice a month, discussion panel events and a “knit and natter” group weekly. Please note that there is no access to JCS staff at Welcome Wednesday.

Children's crochet: make a basket

Children's crochet: make a basket Hosts: Val Riddiough and Shirley Mawhinney Time: 2pm - 4pm Price: £15 This workshop is for children who are aged 8+. Crochet requires a level of dexterity in their fingers that usually hasn't formed before age 8. We want children to have the best experience and not be put off learning this skill. This class is for children who are beginners to crochet and for those who can already crochet. They will be taught how to make a basket. We will adapt the style to suit their ability so everyone will go home with something that they can use. They will learn skills which will help them to never be bored in their summer holiday. Examples of baskets will be displayed for inspiration. All materials will be provided at the class. If your child already has crochet hooks and yarn please feel free to bring them along. What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number, your child's name. Please also make us aware of any disabilities, special requirements or anything you need us to be mindful of when teaching your child. You can do this by sending us an email at Children should be accompanied to this workshop by an adult. Adults are expected to stay for the duration of the class. A comfortable seating area is available along with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Free wifi is also available. During the workshops, we may take photographs for use on our social media and on our website.

We are a group of woman who have have lost a loved one, some recently and others a number of years ago. We offer support, friendship and share practical advice with each other and enjoy a variety of speakers. We also have an outing once a month. / / Bethany is a friendly, relaxed and informal group of around 36 members. At our meetings we talk a lot, laugh a lot and enjoy our time together over a good cuppa. Wednesdays 7pm till 8pm Yoga Gruham or Yoga Home is creating a friendly community environment to explore the foundations of the Ashtanga yoga sequence. This framework of postures provides a means by which to explore and experiment with our breath and body. Our Wednesday night beginners gang engages in this with a sense of community, humour and openness to learn. Osprey Workshop

Osprey Workshop Location: Callendar Ospreys, Otter and Kingfisher. All possible from one hide!!!! Although the hide does not give you the eye level viewpoint of some of the Osprey Hides in the UK it does give you some nice natural backdrops, some excellent views of Ospreys and non stop action. On top of this Kingfisher are regularly seen and photographed from the hide and otters are seen every day. If anyone is interested in photographing Osprey at an affordable price then this would be a great workshop for you to try. In addition to that you have a great chance of getting all 3 species in one workshop. Ospreys dive incredibly quickly and often the whole sequence from dive and exit from the water is over in seconds, so therefore booking more than one slot will give you a better chance of achieving successful images. It will also give you more opportunity to see the other species that visit the hide. As with all my workshops I will be on hand to give advice on settings and various different shots that can be achieved. The group will be a maximum of 4 people so there will be plenty of opportunities to work with everyone one on one if required. All Hide Bookings exclusively for our group are included in the price.
