Fused glass workshop: Saturday 9th May: 2pm - 5pm

Fused glass workshop Host: Pauline Graham Time: 2pm - 5pm Price: £40 In this workshop you will be taken through the steps to create your own fused glass hanging cityscape, garden or underwater scene panel.  You will design your own image, learn to score, cut and grind glass pieces and apply enamel paint. Your panel will be ready for collection from The Crafty Coo within one week. Everything you need is provided, including optional cutting gloves and protective eyewear. Please also adhere to our “no open footwear” safety policy. This workshop will take place in our workshop on the first floor which is only accessible via stairs. What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number.  Please also make us aware of any disabilities, special requirements or anything you need us to be mindful of, we want to ensure you have the best experience possible. You can do this by sending us an email at Complimentary tea and coffee and snacks are provided.  You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks to this workshop. During the workshops, we may take photographs for use on our social media and on our website. If you do no wish to be photographed please let us know. You will be taught how to do crochet stitches such as chain, double crochet stitch and how to make increases and decreases in your project to create the 3D shape. Some experience of crochet is beneficial for attending this class. Photogram Printmaking Workshop

Photogram Printmaking Workshop Fri 9th October, 9:30am - 12:30pm A fun and experimental session introducing you to the creation of Photograms and darkroom practice Photograms are a cameraless darkroom process where objects placed on photographic paper allowing you to create abstract photographic compositions through light and shadow. Popularised in the 1920’s by Dada artist photographer Man Ray and the Constructivist El Lissitzky as a challenge to traditional photography this graphic process brings chance and mystery into printmaking. Led by photographer and educator Mike Stone @_rodinal on Instagram A great introduction to darkroom working, we’ll familiarise you with the darkroom, safe lighting & processing equipment. You’ll be instructed in chemical preparation and taken step by step through the photogram process. All materials included. We have a range of objects to use but please bring your own favourite objects, something simple or symbolic. Leaves, feathers and glass objects work well. Fused glass workshop: Saturday 11th April: 10am - 4pm

Fused glass workshop Host: Pauline Graham Time: 10am - 4pm (45 minute break) Price: £75 In this workshop you will be taken through the steps to create your own fused glass seascape or thistle/ flower panel.  You will learn to score, cut and grind glass pieces to fit your pattern or “cartoon” (the traditional term used in stained glass), applying enamel paint accents by hand to refine your piece prior to it being firing in a glass kiln. Your panel will be ready for collection from The Crafty Coo within one week. Alternative arrangements for collection may be possible by prior arrangement. Everything you need is provided, including optional cutting gloves and protective eyewear. Please also adhere to our “no open footwear” safety policy. This workshop will take place in our workshop on the first floor which is only accessible via stairs.
