Christina Riley’s Opening Exhibiton: In this Book You’ll Find a Recipe Fri 24th July, 4pm - 8pm Join us at Narture for the final exhibition of our July Blank Canvas resident, artist and writer Christina Riley. Her project, In This Book You’ll Find a Recipe—a title borrowed from Georgia O’Keeffe—combines photography, books, and food to create a collaborative community cookbook. By gathering local recipes, cooking tips, and food memories, the project highlights the vital importance of sharing knowledge during modern climate and cost-of-living crises. Throughout July, Christina has been using Narture’s darkroom to develop photographs while designing and hand-binding her book. The exhibition space will showcase this collaborative cookbook alongside a special curation of The Nature Library, focusing on literature tied to food, agriculture, and the environment. The exhibition launches with an opening night on Friday 24th July, featuring an artist talk with Christina at 6:00 PM. 3 week Bowl Making and Glazing Workshop Monday 20th, 27th of July and 3rd of August, 6.30-8.30pm Make your own ceramic bowls from scratch! From hand building to glazing. Important info!!: This workshop happens over 3 weeks, Monday 20th, 27th of July and 3rd of August, 6.30-8.30pm. You must be able to attend all 3 dates. A 3 week workshop focused on making and glazing your own beautiful ceramic bowls. Over the three sessions, you’ll hand-build a small set of bowls, create their shapes, and decorate before glazing them in the final week. Suitable for both beginners and those with some clay experience. You will be learning skills such as how to slip cast and press mould with clay! As well as all about the glazing and firing process. Life Drawing Last Wednesday of the month from 6pm - 8pm Next session: 29th July Whether you're completely new to life drawing or looking to develop your observational skills, our monthly Life Drawing sessions offer a welcoming, relaxed environment to learn, experiment, and create. Photogram Printmaking Workshop

Photogram Printmaking Workshop Fri 9th October, 9:30am - 12:30pm A fun and experimental session introducing you to the creation of Photograms and darkroom practice Photograms are a cameraless darkroom process where objects placed on photographic paper allowing you to create abstract photographic compositions through light and shadow. Popularised in the 1920’s by Dada artist photographer Man Ray and the Constructivist El Lissitzky as a challenge to traditional photography this graphic process brings chance and mystery into printmaking. Led by photographer and educator Mike Stone @_rodinal on Instagram A great introduction to darkroom working, we’ll familiarise you with the darkroom, safe lighting & processing equipment. You’ll be instructed in chemical preparation and taken step by step through the photogram process. All materials included.
