Adult crochet workshop (Amigurumi): Tuesday 12th May: 11.30am - 1.30pm

Adult crochet workshop (Amigurumi) Host: Val Riddiough Time: 11.30am - 1.30pm Price: £20 (all materials are provided) In this workshop you will learn the skills of amigurumi crochet, to make toys.  You will be taught how to do crochet stitches such as chain, double crochet stitch and how to make increases and decreases in your project to create the 3D shape.  Some experience of crochet is beneficial for attending this class however you can attend if you are a beginner and you will be supported well to create your toy.  All materials for this workshop will be provided, however if you have your own crochet hooks, you are more than welcome to bring them along. Tea, coffee and biscuits are supplied during the workshop, and you are also welcome to bring along your own refreshments. What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number.  Please also make us aware of any disabilities, special requirements or anything you need us to be mindful of, we want to ensure you have the best experience possible. Children's beginners crochet (right-handed): Thursday 2nd April: 6pm - 8pm

Children's beginners crochet (right-handed) Hosts: Shirley Mawhinney & Val Riddiough Time: 6pm - 8pm Price: £8 This workshop is for right- handed children who are aged 8+.  Crochet requires a level of dexterity in their fingers that usually hasn't formed before age 8. We want children to have the best experience and not be put off learning this skill. In this workshop children will learn basic crochet stitches including chain stitch, slip stitch, double crochet, half treble and treble crochet.  They will be encouraged to combine these stitches to make a basic shapes such as squares, circles, flowers, love hearts. Children will be guided on choosing yarns and colours and shown some examples of things that they can go on to make using their shapes e.g. flowers, hanging decorations, blankets, toys. All materials are provided, however if your child already has crochet hooks and yarn please feel free to bring them along. What We Need From You: Your name, email address and telephone number, your child's name and their favourite colour (if they have one).  Please also make us aware of any disabilities, special requirements or anything you need us to be mindful of when teaching your child. You can do this by sending us an email at Children should be accompanied to this workshop by an adult.  Adults are expected to stay for the duration of the class.
