Ben Jones & Xavier Lynn Double Headline Show

Ben Jones returns to the Fox & Firkin to host another night of incredible live music and sharing the stage with top American guitarist, Xavier Lynn. Xavier Lynn is a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose work draws from southern soul, funk, and R&B. Influenced by artists such as Prince, Bobby Womack, D’Angelo, Otis Rush, and Funkadelic, he combines traditional and modern elements in his music. He has performed and recorded with artists including John P. Kee, Donnie McClurkin, Joe, and MonoNeon. These collaborations have contributed to his musical range and professional experience. His original songs, such as Make It Through and Sorry It Ends This Way, highlight his ability to bring guitar and vocals together in a soulful, unified expression. Known for his energetic live performances, Xavier Lynn continues to develop his style through ongoing work in both studio and stage settings. Ben is a gifted multi-instrumentalist/producer whose reputation is firmly established in the London music scene. Over the years, Ben has worked with artists including Sam Smith, Jacob Collier, Mary J Blige, Sir Tom Jones and Jazmine Sullivan but has always made time for developing his own material. Projects such as DivaGeek brought the attention of musical royalty, Lalah Hathaway, leading him to produce music on one of her Grammy winning records.

Giant Wooden Xylophone – Polyrhythms – Traditional Ugandan Music “A dense tangle of sound, from which distinct melodies, basslines, and rhythms emerge, each musician’s abstract part combining into an entrancing whole.” — Jim Hickson, Songlines The Nakibembe Xylophone Troupe from Uganda performs on the embaire, a giant wooden xylophone played by six musicians, creating hypnotic, joyful music. The troupe has built an international reputation through performances at WOMEX, CTM Festival, Bourse de Commerce (Paris), Holland Festival, Roskilde Festival, Forde Festival (Norway), and more. Tokyo Riddim Sunday

Tokyo Riddim returns to its spiritual home, Fox & Firkin, for a full summer Sunday of live music, DJs, record digging, Japanese market stalls and family-friendly outdoor energy. After a series of packed London parties, Tokyo Riddim Sunday brings the sound back to where Tokyo Riddim Band first came alive: a cross-cultural meeting point between Japanese music, reggae, dub and record culture. Live on stage, Tokyo Riddim Band brings together three generations of Japanese female musicians with reggae-rooted drums, heavy bass, city pop guitar and live dub mixing. Led by legendary keyboard player Izumi “Mimi” Kobayashi, with saxophonist Megumi Mesaku – a key figure in London’s reggae scene and a close collaborator of Jah Shaka – vocalist Ayana, and producer Kay Suzuki on siren and dub effects, the band has become one of Time Capsule’s most joyful live projects, turning the Tokyo Riddim compilation series into a living, dancing, dubwise celebration. Joining them live are Swans from Kanagawa, Japan, whose laid-back, dubwise instrumental grooves make them a perfect match for a summer afternoon in the Fox garden. Across the day, DJs Nina Yamada, Shoko Yoshida, Table From Three and Izumi “Mimi” Kobayashi will move through reggae, dub, Japanese grooves, tropical sounds, soulful oddities and summer dancefloor selections. From midday to 5pm, the garden will also host a record fair organised by VDS London and various Japanese market stalls, alongside a Double Dutch performance by HARIBOW...

Peruvian Independence Special: Fiestas Patrias 2026 Join us for a very special Fiestas Patrias on the occasion of the 205 Anniversary of the Independence of Peru. A very special celebration bringing together the diverse expresions from Peru today to the vibrant Fox & Firkin in Lewisham. AfroPeruvian Jarana, Chichafunk by Big Pollo, and closing the night, all the way from Peru, La Cadencia DJ set bringing the latest cumbias and huaynos from Lima, de todas las sangres, in a night to remember. Line up Eliana Rosas & Kieffer Santander: Jarana Afro-Peruana Peruvian-born, London-based artists performing coastal live music and dance, including criolla music and Afro-Peruvian fusion music in London with Kieffer Santander, maestro multi-percussionist playing Peruvian and Latin music in the UK for more than 30 years. Over the years Eliana and Kieffer have brought the Afro-Peruvian month celebration to London, in some iconic venues including the Water Rats, and throughout the Orchids Festival at Kew Gardens, in 2025. In London and in several European cities a Jarana Afro-Peruana has recreated the traditional musical gatherings, usually taking place in ‘callejones’, a communal living area in Peru, lasting several days of live music and dance. A musical legacy that stirs from the unique combination of Indigenous, African and European influences catalysing collective joy, resilience building and liberation.

It reflects as much the traditional ceremonies as the trendy clubs of Cotonou, through to the Evangelical churches and the convents where voodoo deities are invoked. ROOTWRKS is a new live series championing independent artists building from the ground up. Music that grows correctly and lasts the test of time. Curated by August Charles, the first edition focuses on hip-hop, soul, blues and R&B, the genres that have shaped his journey so far. The lineup features August Charles, jev., FloFilz and Mica Sefia, bringing together distinct voices for a night rooted in rhythm, lyricism and discovery. The artists will be backed by a dedicated live house band made up of outstanding jazz musicians, creating space for each set to feel expansive, musical and alive in the moment. Day & Night Refugee Fundraiser (Skull Rub X HIGH HATS X Felt Sound System)

A stacked day + night festival brought to you by three London collectives, Skull Rub, High Hats, and Felt Sound system (also providing their heavyweight sound system). Raising vital funds for Lewisham Donation Hub and Plateful Cafe, both of whom are doing substantial bits to support migrants and locals in need. Kids come free with adults and are welcome until 8pm. Steam Down Soundsystem X Imaginary Millions

Southeast London’s legendary Steamdown are coming to the garden with the Imaginary Millions crew. Steam Down is a British Afro-Punk band, weekly event and music community based in London. In a finely tuned alchemy of sound, space and energy, Steam Down have mastered the art of enriching human emotional, social and collective state of being through music. Founded by multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Ahnansé in 2017, the initial event was created to connect London based musicians and producers. Since then it has evolved into a weekly event where Steam Down artists and its extended musical family generate spontaneous sonic soundscapes reflecting their lives in the city. Steam Down has quickly become a household name in London’s music scene, receiving two Jazz FM awards including the innovation award sponsored by Mishcon De Reya and live experience of the year award sponsored by Yamaha UK featuring Kamasi Washington. In addition, Sky News produced a full feature on Steam Down and its fundamental role within London’s flourishing jazz scene. Imaginary Millions started off as a live jam in Shoreditch where regulars came to expect two hours of incredible non-stop live improvised music where any member of the audience could get up and sing, rap, speak, dance as they felt moved. Imaginary Millions have also had one of Soho Radio’s most exciting radio shows over the last 5+ years.

Save Lewisham Shopping Centre Campaign Fundraiser

HANDS OFF LEWISHAM SHOPPING CENTRE! The Lewisham Peoples Assembly’s has organised a fundraiser for affordable housing and the Save Lewisham Shopping Centre campaign. Join us for a fun night of music and solidarity. All proceeds raised will help pay for campaign costs to stop gentrification and social cleansing in the borough. After nearly 50 years at the heart of the community, Lewisham Shopping Centre is set to be demolished and rebuilt by Landsec along with 1,749 new homes – just 16% of which will be ‘affordable’, only 98 will be available for social rent. 10,000 households are on waiting lists, and 2,800 households face homelessness. It’s potentially the end of an era – both for the centre and the people of Lewisham. LEWISHAM IS NOT FOR SALE Over 3000 Lewisham residents have signed a petition to reject the redevelopment proposal. The Save Lewisham Shopping Centre campaign marks the beginning of a borough-wide movement driven by collective frustration and empowerment to bring an end to private property developers exploiting the desire for affordable, quality housing. JOIN US!
