TRIGGAH Record Release Party

Jazz fusion upstarts, TRiGGAH are celebrating the release of their new version of the Jimi Hendrix classic Crosstown Traffic with a special performance at The Fox and Firkin on the 12th August 2026. A newcomer to the scene, this 14-piece musical powerhouse is made up up of some of the most highly-respected musicians on the circuit. Elements of Acid Jazz, Ska, Blues, New Orleans. Reggae, Mod and Psychedelic Rock, create a rich backdrop for composer and band-leader, David J Solomons’ uncompromising, irreverent and provocative lyrics, all delivered in his raspy Essex twang. “TRiGGAH is dangerous fun for your ears. One of the biggest reggae stars to emerge in the ’80s, Eek-a-Mouse (born in Kingston as Ripton Joseph Hylton) has no trouble maintaining a high profile. Not only is he six-foot-six, his distinctive voice is hard to miss: he sings with a nasal twang (like a higher-pitched version of Michael Rose), but punctuates his vocals with all sorts of syllabic thrusts, like reggae’s answer to scat.

Dende Nation Pre Carnival Night w/ Reggae Choir

Expect powerful rhythms, uplifting voices, dancing, participation and a carnival atmosphere that will leave you ready for Carnival weekend. Before taking to the streets of Notting Hill Carnival, Dendê Nation, winners of the Notting Hill Carnival 2025 Brazilian Bands Category, invite audiences to a special pre-carnival celebration bringing together the artists, music and communities behind Ìjó Ìdílé – Rooted & Rising. The evening marks the culmination of months of drumming, dance and singing activities that have connected participants across England through a shared celebration of culture, creativity and belonging. It is also an opportunity for audiences to experience the energy, rhythms and spirit that will power Dendê Nation’s return to Notting Hill Carnival. At a time when many communities feel increasingly divided, Ìjó Ìdílé celebrates the cultural connections that unite us. For one evening, an Afro-Brazilian Samba-Reggae bloco and a Jamaican-rooted community choir share the same stage, highlighting the African heritage that continues to shape music, carnival and collective celebration across continents. Leading the evening is Dendê Nation, joined by special guest Marivaldo Paim, Musical Director of Ilê Aiyê, the pioneering Afro-Brazilian cultural organisation from Salvador, Bahia. Reggae Choir Special guests Reggae Choir bring their uplifting sound and infectious energy to the stage with a full live set of reggae classics and contemporary favourites.

Movimientos presents a big bank holiday fiesta featuring red hot Afro-Colombian live set from Pambelé plus Cuban selector extraordinaire Cami Layé Okún and more special guest DJs PAMBELÉ Now on tour and receiving an electrifying response across Europe, Pambelé defines a singular style: Afro-Colombian Psychedelia. Their music is a boundless playground drawing nourishment from the culture of trance, improvisation and dance – a captivating sonic journey through intricate connections between “traditional” music of Colombia’s Caribbean Coast and Western psychedelic influences from the 60s. Cheerful vocals jubilate while the pulse of tambor alegre and the Farfisa organ cut shapes shoulder to shoulder, and waves of electric guitar and saxophone crash upon Colombia’s northern coastline in wild, torrid celebration. Based in France, Pambelé brings together musicians from Colombia, France, New Zealand, Panama and Italy in a vibrant fusion of talent and sound. After a highly successful season performing at international festivals and prestigious music venues worldwide, Mario Bakuna is delighted to bring his project, Brazilian Landscapes, to Fox & Firkin Brazilian Landscapes sees acclaimed Brazilian guitarist and singer Mario Bakuna and his band reimagine works by celebrated composers such as Marcos Valle, Claudio Bertrami, Rique Pantoja, Gilberto Gil, Djavan, João Bosco, Arismar do Espírito Santo, as well as the forrozeiros Dominguinhos and Luiz Gonzaga. This concert is the synthesis of years of inspiration drawn from Bakuna’s travels across Brazil, where he immersed himself in the country’s rhythmic and harmonic diversity. From the arid landscapes of the Northeast – echoed in the driving choruses of Forró, Baião, and Xaxado – to the African heritage expressed in Ijexá, the popularity of Samba, and the refined elegance of Bossa Nova, Mario Bakuna and his musicians celebrate one of the richest musical territories on Earth. Mario Bakuna is a Brazilian composer, arranger, vocalist, and guitarist, bringing over 25 years of musical artistry to audiences worldwide, currently based in London, UK.
