Drumming Meditations For Wellbeing Tŷ Pawb

Coming together to connect, reflect and be in our natural flow of wellbeing References to drumming throughout human history suggests that drumming has boosted wellbeing for millennia – and now it’s our turn. In these meditation drumming events, you are invited to be free from expectations, and flow with what is as you experience those moments of drumming together. Free – gift what you feel event with gift donations welcome to support practitioners. Gift donation can have the added bonus of securing a drum, free tickets are open to what is left available Here we may find our own rhythms, our own expressions, in co-creation with wisdom around us and within us. This means this is suitable for complete beginners and advanced drummers alike. We are on a level field of play here. You can bring your own drum, rattles, and you can also play with what we bring. We welcome diversity here, those of all backgrounds, birthplaces, identities, abilities, disabilities, neurodiversities, LGBTQIA+ any that respect our united diversities are all welcome here. WREXFEST returns to Ty Pawb for the 5th year running to deliver an audio-visual extravaganza. Composing Belonging

Composing Belonging returns to Wrexfest this August following a hugely successful debut earlier this year Originally created as a one-night-only performance, the project returns after its first sharing received such a positive response from audiences that the artists wanted to continue the collaboration and develop the work further. This year’s performance brings together SERA, Ayoub Boukhalfa, Yasmine Latkowski and the full Panedeni ensemble for an afternoon of original music, collaboration and conversation. At the heart of the project is a shared exploration of identity, language, heritage and belonging. Drawing on Welsh and Arabic musical traditions, the artists combine original songwriting with diverse musical influences to create new work rooted in their own lived experiences. Joining the project this year is Panedeni, whose debut EP Atamanaa was released earlier this summer. Led by Yasmine Latkowski, the North Wales-based ensemble blends Arabic and Welsh musical traditions through original compositions and reimagined folk styles, featuring oud, Welsh border pipes, violin, guitar, clarinet, flutes, Egyptian percussion, bass and vocals performed across four languages. Alongside music from Panedeni’s new EP, audiences will hear original collaborative works developed through the Composing Belonging project, individual performances from the featured artists, and hear the stories behind the music.
