An Evening with Jimmy Tarbuck

Jimmy Tarbuck: “Laughter is the only drug I’ve ever needed” COMEDY LEGEND CELEBTRATES 85TH BIRTHDAY WITH UK TOUR THE LONGEST RUNNING CAREER IN SHOWBIZ: 67 YEARS AND COUNTING Tickets, dates and info: www.jimmytarbuck.com JIMMY TARBUCK OBE, one of the most popular household names from the golden era of British stand up, will be celebrating his 85th birthday – and an astonishing 67 years in showbusiness. ‘An Evening with Jimmy Tarbuck’ will see the acclaimed comedian and raconteur reflecting on a remarkable life in showbusiness, the seeds of which were sown in childhood where he was classmates – and good mates – with John Lennon. Jimmy returned to the stage last year with a run of 14 sold out nights at the London Palladium opening for Barry Manilow, as well as his own UK tour. Now, the 85-year-old entertainer, who boasts The Longest Running Career in Showbiz, is excited to be back on the road performing in some of his favourite towns and venues in the UK. Jimmy said: “We’re going to have laughter; songs and I’m going to talk about my career in showbusiness. I’m going to tell you about the people I’ve met: Sinatra, Elvis, Cilla Black, Tom Jones, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope. The shows with Barry Manilow at the London Palladium last year were fantastic – what a performer he is. But now I am really looking forward to visiting the towns and cities where I learned my craft and built my fanbase. The crowds are always on great form and always ready to laugh.

Matthew Coleridge's Requiem
Live Music

Matthew Coleridge's Requiem

From the sweeping majesty of Vangelis’ Conquest of Paradise and the heart-breaking lyricism of James Horner’s Titanic Suite, to the childlike wonder of John Williams’ Flight to Neverland from Hook, this concert opens with some of the most iconic, emotionally charged film music ever written. The atmosphere deepens with James Newton Howard’s haunting The Hanging Tree and the rich, earthy rhythms of Christopher Tin’s Waloyo Yamoni. The evening culminates in the luminous stillness of Matthew Coleridge’s Requiem – a contemporary choral masterpiece of rare beauty. Performed by the 50-piece Fulltone Orchestra and a 100-strong Fulltone Chorus, this is a large-scale, immersive concert experience – music of cinematic power and intimate beauty, brought to life by massed forces in full voice. Rooted in the traditional Latin Requiem text yet shaped by a modern, cinematic harmonic language, Coleridge’s Requiem offers a deeply human response to loss, remembrance and hope – music that is consoling, quietly powerful, and profoundly moving. As Alexander Armstrong (Classic FM) puts it: “What a revelation! Really very beautiful.” Vangelis – Conquest of Paradise James Horner – Titanic: Suite John Williams – Hook – Flight to Neverland Ennio Morricone – The Mission: Suite James Newton Howard – The Hanging Tree Christopher Tin – Waloyo Yamoni ~ Interval ~ Matthew Coleridge – Requiem Concert end: 17:00pm approx *All under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on a maximum 1:4 ratio.
