Join us for a nature inspired wire workshop taught by professional artist Judith Brown, where we’ll create wire seed head stems to display in a vase. Inspiration will come from seed heads such as cow parsley, poppies, grasses and more. Judith will teach you how to use various gauges of wire and different techniques to create your seed heads. You can expect to come away with a bunch of stems to display at home, based on the ideas pictured here.

Designed especially for us at Creative Thread by Anna Owen, this board bag includes wadding to add stability helping to keep your cutting mats flat and measures 29 x 21 inches. The design on the front is made up of 3 applique panels including 2 houses and a shop – Anna will provide templates which can be altered to create a street personal to you and your imagination. It is a great stash busting projects as a lot of the appliqué do not require huge amounts of fabrics, you can mix and match colours, patterns and prints throughout.

Create your own unique hand stitched interpretation of Northumberland’s famous tree or adapt the design to feature a landmark or poignant place of your own with Jess in this full day workshop. Working on a round base, aprox 20cm, provided by Jess, you will be gently guided through all the various steps to bond a printed fabric image then work on your composition to create a textile collage using a collection of different fabric textures, vintage fabrics and lace. Once you are happy with your collaged fabrics you will be inspired with ideas for stitch to add detail to your landscape. Jessica is described as a textile artist and creative encourager, her reviews are fabulous. Jess will gently guide you through the techniques she uses to paint a fabric base in the morning. you will be using inks and Brusho, which offer rich intense colour to your work. Once dry before building a stitched collage upon the dried base in the afternoon. All materials are provided.
