Kokomo

British soul pioneers, KOKOMO, built their reputation and loyal following through the immensity of their live shows. Featuring some of UK's finest musicians and vocalists, recruited from bands such as Arrival, Joe Cocker's Grease Band, King Crimson..., who shared a deep passion for American Soul music, Kokomo were in a class of their own and in 1975 took London by storm! They joined the seminal 'Naughty Rhythms' tour alongside Dr Feelgood and Chilli Willi & the Red Hot Peppers, and the band's debut album is now considered a classic among collectors. A series of packed reunion gigs in 2014 with seven of the ten original members proved that Kokomo's reputation as one of the finest 'groove' units ever to come out of this country remains largely intact. In November 2015 Kokomo were back with their old touring partners - the Average White Band in "Soul Summit" that sold out London's Royal Festival Hall. With the fire reignited, this show promises to reaffirm Kokomo's position as a powerhouse of live 70s soul. After their last sell out show, The Dodge Brothers return to PizzaExpress Live Holborn to play a very special intimate show exclusively for PizzaExpress Live Holborn. Comprising Mike Hammond, Aly Hirji, (BBC film critic) Mark Kermode and Alex Hammond, The Dodge Brothers are a skiffle-and-blues band producing new songs written and performed in the old style, harking back to the days of jug-band blues and early rock'n'roll. Following their second album Louisa and the Devil ("Marvellous new record!' - Jools Holland) the band recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, USA (as documented on BBC Radio 2), and in 2018 released their forth album Drive Train described as "Essential Listening" by Whispering Bob Harris on his BBC Radio 2 Country Show. The Dodge Brothers are a skiffle-and-blues band producing 'tunes of proven merit' - new songs written and performed in the old style, harking back to the days of jug-band blues and early rock'n'roll. The band are: Mike Hammond (guitars, lead vocals, banjo); Aly Hirji (guitars, mandolin, vocals); Mark Kermode (bass, harmonica, vocals), and Alex Hammond (washboard, snare drum, percussion). Fleetwood Bac were the world’s first and are regarded as the UK’s most authentic Fleetwood Mac Tribute show, raved about by Peter Green’s biographer, and were the first Fleetwood Mac tribute band to fully replicate the classic Stevie, Lindsey, Christine, John & Mick ‘Rumours’ line-up. The Real Thing

Best known for their legendary hits You To Me Are Everything , Can't Get By Without You and Can You Feel the Force , as well as their ground-breaking 1977 song, Children of the Ghetto , The Real Thing remain Britain's most successful black group of all-time. Pioneers in soul, funk and dance music, the two original members - Chris Amoo and Dave Smith - are now celebrating over 45 years in the music industry. Still gigging across the world, the band's success and longevity is unprecedented in British entertainment history. Today, The Real Thing are still in enormous demand; their touring shows (complete with a live five-piece band) still entertain audiences almost every week of the year. Chris and Dave continue to tour and their legacy as Britain's premier black group endures.
