– Welcoming Social Support for People Living With Dementia and Carers (PLWD) The Brigg Dementia Café creates a friendly place for PLWD (People Living With Dementia) and their carers. You can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, share your experiences, and connect with others in a supportive environment. The café meets on the last Monday of every month, from 1pm to 3pm. With the exception of Bank Holidays We welcome everyone at Brigg Methodist Church, Wesley Road, Brigg, DN20 8TR. There is no need to book. Just arrive and feel at ease. If a date falls on a bank holiday, we may move the session. Please to confirm. At each session, you can: - Enjoy a hot drink and friendly conversations - Take part in calming activities designed for those with memory difficulties or dementia - Find peer support and share practical ideas - Talk with our Dementia Advisors and access their support Our sessions help reduce isolation and support wellbeing. They align with our mission to empower carers and PLWD across North Lincolnshire. The Carers Support Service and Dementia Direct has supported carers for nearly 30 years. We offer free, confidential services including peer groups, counselling, training, advice, and wellbeing activities. Working closely with other partners we deliver holistic help from diagnosis onward, however no diagnosis is needed. We design all support to build resilience, promote independence, and foster strong community bonds.

Lunch Club at PAL Bar and Kitchen – Social Time for Local Carers The Lunch Club at PAL Bar and Kitchen offers carers a welcoming space to enjoy good food and friendly company. Caring can be rewarding but also isolating. That’s why taking time out to relax and connect with others is so important. The Lunch Club meets monthly at PAL Bar and Kitchen in Grimsby , giving unpaid carers the chance to share a meal together. Each session provides a set menu, usually including jacket potatoes, burritos, sandwiches, toasties, or soup. Options may vary each time, but there is always something tasty available. Every meal comes with a choice of tea or coffee to enjoy alongside. These meals cost £6 per person and are subsidised by The Carers’ Support Service. The bookings are only open to Carers registered with The Carers’ Support Service. Last Tuesday of each month* except December 12.30pm – 2.00pm PAL Bar and Kitchen 18 Abbeygate Grimsby, DN31 1JY To make the gathering even more fun, there is usually a small raffle (this is cash only). Many carers tell us the raffle adds a light-hearted touch and helps bring people together. The Carers’ Support Service has been helping carers across North and North East Lincolnshire for more than 30 years. We provide a wide range of free, confidential support including benefits advice, peer groups, wellbeing sessions, training, and holistic therapies. The Lunch Club is about more than food.

Carers of adults with life limiting conditions – Peer Support for Carers of Adults with Life-Limiting Conditions Caring for someone with a life-limiting condition can feel overwhelming. The Carers of adults with life limiting conditions peer support group offers a compassionate space for unpaid carers to connect and find strength. Hosted in partnership with Lindsey Lodge Hospice, our sessions take place on the last Thursday of every month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Burringham Road, Scunthorpe, DN17 2AA. Lindsey Lodge Hospice provides specialist palliative care, symptom management, wellbeing services, and emotional support for patients, families, and carers in North Lincolnshire. More information about Lindsey Lodge can be found here: Each gathering welcomes carers caring for adults with life-limiting illnesses—whether or not the cared-for person has any current link to the hospice. At these sessions, you can openly share experiences and challenges in a friendly, understanding environment. Our facilitator leads open discussions, supports signposting to services like Dementia Direct, benefits advice, or Counselling. Lindsey Lodge staff attend to offer additional wellbeing insights or information about hospice services. Together, we explore coping strategies, resilience tools, and ways to maintain personal wellbeing.
