Sound Journey

Step into the atmospheric surroundings of Landguard Fort and leave the outside world at the door for a little while. Settle into a peaceful sound journey with Michelle from Edge of Sacred. This calming session offers simple moments of rest surrounded by the quiet, grounding spirit of Landguard Fort. Michelle will guide you with soft spoken cues, gentle pauses, and the soothing sounds of crystal singing bowls, gong and voice — creating an experience that feels as natural and restorative as sitting by the sea. Bring a cosy blanket, get comfortable, and let the sounds drift around you like waves across the shingle. There’s nothing to learn or get right — just relax, breathe, and simply be. 50% of the proceeds of this event will go towards supporting the upkeep of Landguard Fort. Health Information Please consult your healthcare professional before attending if you are pregnant, have sound-sensitive epilepsy, a heart condition, severe sound sensitivity, or are experiencing significant mental health difficulties. If you have any concerns about whether a session is appropriate for you, please get in touch before booking. Contact Edge of Sacred What to Bring Adult only event. Attendees are expected to sit or lay down on the mats which are provided. It is recommended to bring a blanket (or a sleeping bag!), dress warmly and bring a pillow. Arrival Information Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the session.

Sea Shanty Evening

In aid of Felixstowe Lifeboat The walls of Landguard Fort will echo with rousing choruses and salty tales of the sea on Friday 22 August, as the peninsula hosts a special Sea Shanty Evening in support of the Felixstowe Lifeboat. Set within the historic parade ground of this 400‑year‑old coastal fortress, the event brings together shanty groups and local performers for a night of foot‑stomping rhythm, maritime folklore, and good old‑fashioned community spirit. Wet your whistle with something from the bar and expect harmonies that roll like the tide, songs that celebrate the courage of those who work at sea, and plenty of opportunities to join in. With Felixstowe Museum and the Landguard Nature Reserve just steps away, the evening also shines a light on the wider peninsula — a place shaped by the sea and the people who protect those who sail it. All proceeds from the night will go directly to supporting the vital work of the Felixstowe Lifeboat, helping keep our coastline safe year‑round.
