About the Event Want to explore electronic music making and collaborative jamming aboard a canal barge? Surrounded by the rhythms of the canal, the barge becomes a floating studio where sound, technology, and creativity come together. Whether you have never touched a synthesiser before or already make electronic music, this welcoming workshop offers an opportunity to explore sound synthesis, beats, textures, and electronic soundscapes in an open and supportive environment. Through a collective jam session, participants will experiment with synthesizers and electronic instruments, discovering how individual sounds can come together to create something larger as a group. All synthesisers and electronic instruments will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own over-ear headphones with a 3.5mm jack (please avoid Bluetooth headphones or earbuds). If you have a small synthesiser or electronic instrument of your own, feel free to bring it along. No prior experience is required. The workshop is open to beginners and experienced musicians alike. Participants should be comfortable engaging with some introductory technical concepts. Ages 16+ | Capacity: 12 Thursday, July 23, 2026 6 - 9:00 p.m.

Communicate Jam Session & Open Music night

Communicate Live Jam and Song writing Sessions are back at the Floating Garden and this summer you can join in or grab a drink from our bar and simply enjoy the music. Communicate run a lively and intimate session that fuses improvised jamming with collective songwriting offering everyone a chance to bring their artistic direction to the music they play and record. Meet creatives, make music and play instruments live. Not a musician but love to listen in? These special sessions will have seating set up so you can sit, listen, grab a beverage and enjoy.
