Hospice Harmony Summer Charity Concert

Saturday 6th June at 2pm Following several recent sell-out concerts at the Ardington Hotel, local choir Hospice Harmony return for a performance in aid of St Barnabas Hospice and Chestnut Tree House. The choir will sing a wide variety of music including folk, country, jazz, popular songs, as well as music from shows and films. The concert will be followed by followed by home-made scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam, and sandwiches. Tickets: £21 per person (£15 from each ticket sale will go to the charities). The Fascinating History of Seaside Holidays

Thursday 13th August at 12 noon Ever wondered when Worthing became a holiday resort, and not just a fishing village by the sea? What was a ‘sea cure’ and what was considered ‘indecent bathing’. Local historian Chris Hare joins us to tell of the origin of the seaside holiday in the Georgian period, the sometimes strange or surprising reasons for its popularity and the history through time to the present day.
