Thursday 13th August at 12 noon Ever wondered when Worthing became a holiday resort, and not just a fishing village by the sea? What was a ‘sea cure’ and what was considered ‘indecent bathing’. Local historian Chris Hare joins us to tell of the origin of the seaside holiday in the Georgian period, the sometimes strange or surprising reasons for its popularity and the history through time to the present day.
