Come Wine With Me - Cheese & Wine Matching

Cheese and wine tastings may have started as a fad of the seventies but they’re just as popular now as they’ve ever been. Why? Because cheese and wine go together so well! it seems they were just made for each other – and so many perfect parings. Join us for an evening of top drawer cheeses and fabulous wines all perfectly paired. Progress through from lighter to the more robust whilst discussing their merits and searching for those matches made in heaven. Enjoy a glass of fizz on arrival followed by 5 wine and cheese pairings. Oh, and not a pineapple stick or vol-au-vent in sight! Indian Cookery

Britain’s favourite type of takeaway food, Indian cuisine reflects an 8,000-year history of various groups and cultures interacting with the Indian subcontinent, leading to diversity of flavours and regional cuisines found in modern-day India. Spend a day learning to make basic Indian cuisine under the expert guidance of our cookery school teacher. Learn how to blend and cook traditional spices to unleash their full potential, as well as exploring the various regional dishes and styles of Indian cookery. Each student will have their own work station, equipment and ingredients to work with. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT – TECHNIQUES SUCH AS: + Masala Spice Blends + Unleashing Spice (Tadka/Tempering Methods) + Basic Indian Breads: Roti/Naan + Traditional North Indian Dishes and Techniques + Traditional South Indian Dishes & Techniques + Regional Curry Bases and Influences + Rice Preparation Exact recipes for this class will vary by season. Morning Cookery Club - Vietnamese

Here’s your chance to explore the rich tapestry of flavours that Vietnam has to offer understanding traditions of the cuisine rely on fresh herbs and vegetables, and complimentary textures. We will learn how to create, cook and present some of the most famous dishes of Vietnam. From Vietnamese Spring Rolls to Spicy Pork & Noodles, this session is not to be missed! EXPECT RECIPES LIKE: + Beef Pho + Canh Chua + Do Chua Pickled Veg + Nuoc Cham Dipping Sauce + Uyen Luu’s Dipping Sauce + Vietnamese Summer Rolls + Vietnamese Style Pork Belly and Salad. Suitable for vegetarian and gluten free. Not suitable for vegan. Our lively morning cookery sessions give you a taste of your chosen subject under the tutelage of our experienced cookery school teacher. The sessions are suitable for beginner cooks and are led by our friendly chef tutors. The class has been designed to increase your home cooking skills, experience and confidence. Street Food Express - Pizza Making

Bored with the usual places to go for lunch? Don’t fancy another sandwich on the go? Join us at Blackfriars Cookery School for more dynamic lunch with our 1-hour Express cookery classes. You will learn to make a classic street food dish that can take you to the streets of Bangkok or Mumbai and back, prepared at your very own individual workstation. Each class focuses on a particular street food, giving the chance to explore new and authentic ingredients in just one hour! Enjoy the delights of freshly made Neapolitan pizza. You will be hands-on in this session: hand-stretching the perfect Neapolitan-style pizza and making your own pizza dough to take home and stash in the freezer. You will also learn how to perfect a flavourful pizza sauce and gain useful tips for creating quality pizza in your home oven. Once the cooking is over you can sit, with a beer or glass of fizz, and consume your handiwork. These courses are designed to be relaxed, informative and fun. Cloister Garden Bbq - 6pm Sitting

Fridays are the new… err, Fridays don’t you know – and we’re continuing the tradition in our Cloister Garden. We’ll be hosting a weekly BBQ most Fridays throughout the summer. Come and enjoy the afternoon sunshine over a chilled bottle of Whispering Angel Rose, a cold beer or selection of bespoke home-made garden cocktails, or wrap yourself up with one of our blankets, under the heated parasols and settle in with a bottle of red in front of one of our fire pits. You’ll enjoy a sharing plank of seasonal starters, followed by a main course straight from the BBQ and rounded off with a seasonal dessert.
