Sing Up Sunday

Sing Up Sunday is a relaxed, feel‑good singing workshop designed for anyone who wants to sing without the commitment of weekly rehearsals. Perfect for working adults, beginners, returning singers, and anyone who simply loves soul, gospel, and pop music. This one‑off session takes you back to the roots of Bright Soul Choir — warming up together, learning simple songs by ear, and enjoying the buzz of singing in a friendly group. No auditions, no pressure, no experience needed. Dates: Sunday 7 June & 19 July. Time: 11.30 am-1.30 pm What you’ll enjoy A welcoming, inclusive atmosphere Easy vocal warm‑ups to build confidence One or two simple soul/gospel/pop songs Step‑by‑step teaching suitable for all levels A fun, uplifting singing experience Optional Social – Tea & Cake in the local cafe after. Sussex Voiceworks presents Sing The Seasons

Sing the Seasons is a celebration of nature and the changing seasons in Britain, with a programme of beautiful choral music ranging from classical pieces to folk-inspired songs and familiar favourites. The choir will be performing works by composers such as Rutter, Gjeilo, Haydn and Vaughan Williams. Doors 3.30pm, concert 4pm. Tickets are £15 for adults, with under 16s free, and include strawberries and cream. Tickets are available via sussexvoiceworks.com, from choir members, or on the door.

U3A Monthly Meeting – Stories From The Clink

Stories From The Clink A presentation by Neil Sadler Which country has a quarter of all the world’s prisoners locked up? Why did the prisoner lock his own cell door on the jail landing in front of Neil? The real three man escape from Alcatraz. Did George Best ever play for the prison football team? “Porridge”; many people’s favourite classic TV sit com. All this and more from a former police officer who visited many UK prisons and met many colourful characters. Their stories might well surprise you. Approached with his customary humour, let Neil guide you in (and luckily, out) of a few well-known prisons. Cost: Members: FREE | Non-members £4 (including refreshments)
