Antarctica: A Journey to the Last Great Wilderness A presentation by David Gill David will explain the unique geography and landscapes of Antarctica and the diverse wildlife and their role in the Antarctic ecosystem. You will gain insights into the challenges posed by the rough waters of the Drake Passage for travellers and learn about daily life onboard an expedition ship and, adventurous excursions off board. David will also explain the role of citizen science projects in the collection of primary data. David will explain the environmental threats facing Antarctica due to climate change and tourism impact, and how current scientific efforts and the Antarctic Treaty in preserving this fragile ecosystem.
