Tefillin and Breakfast

A new Mosaic Masorti initiative - come along to lay tefillin, eat some breakfast, enjoy a shmooze and a speedy weekday Shacharit service (30-40 minutes). We will have some spare sets of tefillin and volunteers to help you wrap if you’re trying out a new mitzvah or just feeling rusty with an old one! Please contact Rabbi Anthony for further details.

Film Mosaic - "Un Sac de Billes (a bag of marbles)"

Mosaic Culture Hub is thrilled to invite you to the film evening at Mosaic Jewish Community For a viewing of "Un Sac de Billes" Click "more" below for details of the film. Film MOSAIC is open to anyone, why not bring a friend. There will be time for an informal discussion or a chat with friends, with tea, coffee and biscuits after the screening. Donations for our chosen charity would be appreciated if you care to give. In occupied France during World War II, two young Jewish brothers, Maurice and Joseph, are sent by their parents to the Zone libre, and display courage, intelligence and ingenuity as they escape the occupiers and try to reunite their family. This terrific French film tells the moving story of the two young brothers and their journey. It is a warm, tender, yet at the same time harrowing story, that will leave you moved. (French with English Subtitles)

Intermediate Chit-Chat b'Ivrit

This is an opportunity for people to get together and have coffee and conversations in Hebrew. It assumes some basic level of Hebrew but the aim is to converse and improve. It may have to include some grammar!! The teacher is Reuven Vazan who is Israeli, is experienced and already teaching different levels of Hebrew online and face to face as well as in a classroom at Kenton Synagogue for over 7 years. Sessions are held fortnightly and the cost is £10. Participants will be asked to pay in six-week blocks in advance.

Pesukei d'Zimra will begin at 9.45 sharp. We hope to get to the Torah service by about 10.45, Musaf by about 11.30 and Kiddush by 12.15. We look forward to seeing you at the service The Torah reading is Korach .

Sue Krisman, Mosaic Jewish Community member, is a novelist, playwright and lecturer. She was formerly Creative Writing Fellow at Reading University and has lectured at Limmud and Spiro's Ark. Hebrew Chit-Chat for Beginners

We now have a class every other Tuesday specifically for beginners with a fee of £10 per session*. The teacher is Reuven Vazan. Many of you who have learnt Hebrew in the past will be aware of the gap between knowing the languge and being able to speak it, which this course will aim to close. We are quite confident people will be able to see the fruits of speaking even at early stages. Please sign up and tell your friends too. Music for Memory

Music 4 Memory is a warm, supportive therapeutic singing group for people experiencing memory loss and related challenges. Our experienced professional facilitator leads the group in singing well-loved songs that lift spirits and bring smiles, laughter, and a sense of connection. Each session begins with 30 minutes of social time and refreshments. You are welcome to attend on your own or with a family member, carer, or supportive friend. Singing is not only enjoyable but can also play a valuable role in supporting cognitive function reminiscing through familiar music and enhancing wellbeing.
