Write Time, Write Place: a Ten Week Creative Writing Course

Book now for this fantastic ten week creative writing course which runs from 22 April to 24 June (every Wednesday) This ten-week course with Chris Woodhouse is an opportunity for those who enjoy creative writing to have fun sharing work, ideas and motivation. It is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience of writing who would welcome guidance, encouragement and feedback. Chris has created and taught many courses and workshops in the subject for over thirty years. Sessions will include sharing work, discussion, writing exercises and suggested topics and will be supported with some taught elements and printed handouts, designed to extend skills and knowledge. Whether you are a short story writer, a poet, a teller of anecdotes, want to write your memoirs or novels or just want to explore different forms of creative writing you will be made very welcome. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. £120 per person to attend all ten classes.

Poetry in Motion - two poetry workshops

Two Poetry Workshops with Chris Woodhouse (Palace Theatre’s Creative Writing Tutor) Workshop one: 1 July (1015-1230) Reading and Writing Poetry: This workshop is an opportunity to gain and share insights into reading and enjoying poetry. We will pool knowledge and insights into the wide range of writing that might be described as poetry before sharing some of our favourites. We will discuss ways to approach writing poetry and how different forms of poetry shape our ideas. Participants might like to bring a published poem they would like to share. Workshop two: 8 July (1015-1230) Writing Poetry: This workshop is about writing poetry and sharing work with others. We will complete some classroom exercises and discuss how well they inspire creativity, sharing what is produced if we wish. Those with some experience of writing poetry will have the opportunity to share a poem, inviting feedback on their work.
