The Dorset Gin Train

Join us aboard the newly refurbished Devon Belle for the Dorset Gin Train, a unique tasting experience where you can enjoy three different gins from local Dorset distilleries for just £45 per person . Arrive at Swanage and board our heritage carriages before setting off through the Purbeck countryside. At your table will be a selection of three different gins from a local based distilleries: Fordington Gin , Gloriette Gin and Shroton Fair Gin To enhance your gin-tasting experience, we’ll also provide a selection of dried or frozen fruits to garnish your gins with, as well as a complimentary Fever-Tree Mixer. You can mix your gins up to suit your taste in your very own branded Swanage Railway gin glass (which is yours to keep), and to keep hunger at bay, a slice of Victoria Sponge Cake will be served, too. Your ticket includes a Freedom Ticket, so you can travel on standard trains all day. There will be a bar for you to buy extra gins, and maybe a bottle to take home!

The Fish & Chips Special

Join us and Fox & Edwards Events for a steam train journey with a difference - a fish and chips meal to enjoy! Take in the picturesque scenery on a round trip from Norden station (where there is car parking - postcode BH20 5DW) in a heritage carriage from the 1950s or early 1960s, hauled by a steam locomotive. The trip takes approximately 70 minutes - perfect for getting a good "fill" of nostalgia or celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other special occasions. The fish and chips meal, bottle of water and baked sweet treat (flapjack or biscuits) are served at the half-way point in the journey for the return trip. Alternative meal options are offered for those who prefer not to have fish and these are selected when purchasing tickets. This is a hugely exciting moment for the railway and a rare opportunity to see one of the most famous steam locomotives in the world here in Purbeck. Owned by the National Railway Museum, this iconic locomotive will be with us for ten days, from Friday 23 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 (inclusive). Bookings open in mid-July Full details will be shared soon, but we’re delighted to confirm the dates and what visitors can expect during this very special visit.
