National Emergency Briefing: Community Screening & Discussion

Join Sustainable Warminster for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing – an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like: Extreme weather Food security Health Cost of living The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK. After the film there will be a short open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally. We will be inviting Andrew Murrison MP, along with local town councillors, and are optimistic that they will join with constituents for this important discussion about our future. Bring a friend, neighbour or family member: everyone is welcome. Note: the film is only being shown at in-person screenings and is not available online. The Zoo That Comes To You follows the impassioned attempts of two animal enthusiasts to share their love of and concern for animals with the world. They take in animals that need respite, care or a temporary home and have, accidentally, ended up with a whole sanctuary, but with no visitors! So everybody – animals and humans alike – have decided it is time to get out, see the world, and bring the zoo, to you. Come and meet this eclectic group of charming yet cheeky animals, as they discuss their life experiences and the challenges they face in a rapidly changing world. They have a lot to say and want to inspire people of all ages to take action, because they know small actions can make a big difference in the world. Featuring puppetry, live music and playful characters, Scarlet Oak Theatre welcomes you to join the conversation about animal conservation. Running time 60mins. The Warminster Comedy Club (18+)

Warminster Comedy Club returns to the Athenæum this June with another fantastic night of live stand-up, bringing together a brilliant lineup of established names and rising talent from the UK comedy circuit. Headlining the show is the superb Marcus Brigstocke, one of the most recognisable and respected comedians in the country. Marcus is known for his intelligent, satirical comedy and razor-sharp delivery, with television appearances including Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You, and The Graham Norton Show. A regular voice on BBC Radio 4 and a veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe, Marcus combines biting wit with playful storytelling, making him one of the most consistently entertaining performers in British comedy. Joining Marcus on the bill is David Arnold, a hugely likeable stand-up known for his energetic stage presence and brilliantly relatable material. With sharp observations and an effortless connection with audiences, David has built a strong reputation on the live circuit as a comedian who knows exactly how to get a room laughing. Hosting the night is Rich Wilson, winner of the Comics’ Comic 2025 Best MC award, an honour voted for by fellow comedians.
