What's on in Potash

Suffolk, England

No stadium concerts here, just the good local stuff: markets, meetups, and events where you'll probably bump into someone you know. Classic Potash. Quiz nights, coffee mornings, craft fairs, book clubs, film screenings — the sort of calendar that makes somewhere feel properly local. Village halls with heating that works on a good day. Community centres that smell faintly of old carpet and possibility. Pubs hosting quizzes and open mics and talks about things you didn't know existed. We've found it all and put it in one place, because life's too short to check seventeen different websites every week.

NT Live 'All My Sons' (Matinée)

Experience the five-star, triumphantly acclaimed production of Arthur Miller’s classic play, All My Sons, at The Freston Boot boutique cinema. This Matinee performance takes place on Thursday 23rd live from the West End, this production features Academy Award-nominee Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths). Directed by the visionary Ivo van Hove, it is a disturbingly prescient take on the American dream. One family sits at the heart of the story. When wartime delivers profits for Joe Keller, it comes at a price. His partner is charged with criminal manufacturing deals, while his eldest son goes missing in action. Will peacetime finally bring peace of mind, or will Joe be confronted by the consequences of his actions? In addition to the leads, this production features an incredible ensemble including Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You), Tom Glynn-Carney (House of the Dragon), and Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake). Since this was captured live from the West End, you can experience the raw energy of the performance right here in Suffolk. Run Time 150 minutes (no interval).  BBFC Certificate 12A While you enjoy the performance, our bar remains open for drinks and snacks. Or why not try an experience of dining and theatre – 2 courses plus a screening.  Because our boutique cinema is an intimate 12 seater venue, we highly recommend you book your tickets in advance here.

Haunting Nights

Join Haunting Nights on The Witch Finder General Ghost Hunt here in Manningtree! Haunting Nights Bring you closer to the story than ever before of the Essex Witch Trials It has been reported many times that the ghost of Matthew Hopkins, the self-proclaimed Witchfinder General, can been seen, especially on nights of a full moon. The ghostly apparition is seen dressed in 17th century clothing close to Mistley ‘ducking’ Pond and the nearby ‘hopping’ bridge not far from St. Marys Church, Mistley. Other reports claim that the ghost of his first victim, the elderly and crippled Elizabeth Clarke appears on the shores of Seafield Bay. Elizabeth was dragged out of The Red Lion public house by Matthew Hopkins as he loudly accused her of being a witch, following a previous accusation by the local tailor John Rivet. Elizabeth was convicted and sentenced to death by hanging. This conviction convinced Hopkins that he was right to accuse her so he proclaimed himself “The Witchfinder General” Join the team as they  investigate the hauntings of Matthew Hopkins Witch Finder General. During the night you will have the opportunity to use various methods of ghost hunting to include Victorian seances, Ouija boards, table tipping and glass moving as well as the more up to date methods, Working alongside the Haunting Nights Team we will have you covered for your paranormal experience.
