Neuro - Divergent Friendly Sewing

Our Neuro - Divergent Sewing session is co-produced and delivered by members of our sewing community with lived experience of neuro- diversity. We have quiet spaces to indulge in some slow stitching, embroidery, knitting and crochet or for the more advenurous our sewing studio will be open to use the sewing machines and studio equipment. Tutors/support is available all afternoon. Frequently asked questions What do I need to Bring? You don't need to bring anything with you as we have fabric , yarn , patterns and everything you need to get you started. We ask for a small donation for the materials you use on the day. We have scissors, and all haberdashery but you can also bring your own. If you wish to bring a project of your own that is OK too! Are there toilet facilities? Yes we have a toilet for your use with disabled access Can I bring my own refreshments? Yes you can. Tea, coffee and squash is included in the cost and is available throughout the session , we also have biscuits and occasionally cake! Do feel free to bring your own drinks, snacks or a sandwich. Can I charge my phone and is there Wifi? Yes we have wifi and you can charge your phone. I have never sewn before , will someone be able to help me? Yes , we have tutors available for the whole session who will be able to help you out and get you started.

How can I know? Talking about God can often feel abstract and beyond our understanding. How are we even able to speak about God? This session explores faith and reason, ways of knowing and speaking about God, reasons we have to believe that God exists. Read ahead: CCC 26-49, 198-231 Session 2: Creation & The Problem of Evil (June 17) - What does it mean to say God “created everything”? Does that mean God created ‘evil’ too? Although not explicitly addressed in the Creed, the problem of evil is one of the greatest challenges to belief in a loving God. If God is all-knowing, all-powerful, all-good, and created everything, why is there evil and suffering? This session examines the Church’s response to the question and how it fits with the Christian understanding of God, creation, freedom, and redemption. Read ahead: CCC 268-314, 385-421 Session 3: Is Jesus God? (June 24) - Who is Jesus? Was he just a great teacher, a prophet, or a revolutionary? Did Jesus truly claim to be God? Why do we believe that Jesus is both fully human and fully divine? This session explores the identity of Jesus Christ, the meaning of the Incarnation, and how the Church came to articulate its belief in Jesus as true God and true man through Scripture and Tradition.

Thursday Quilting Group July 3oth

Our Thursday Quilting Group is a great place to learn new techniques, get together with other quilters, have fun and get creative. We have a fully equipped sewing studio with Bernina Sewing Machines, an Industrial Walking Foot Machine, lots of rulers, rotary cutters and a small selection of fabrics so you don't have to carry all your kit although you can do if you wish! we also have loads of resources, books, magazines etc. Some of our quilters are experienced some are quite new but it's a friendly space and expert tuition is on hand.

The evening will begin with prayer and a brief reflection on the Archdiocese's Year of the Family, followed by a presentation outlining: Where we are in the discernment and planning process. What the presence of Chesterton Academy at Guardian Angels may look like. How parish use of the school building could be affected. The next steps in the process. Following the presentation, attendees will be invited to submit written questions. Fr. Joe will address as many questions as time allows, helping ensure that the discussion is organized and that the most common questions and concerns are addressed. We hope you will join us for this informative evening as we continue to discern how this opportunity may serve both our parish and the broader Catholic community
