Rainy Day Picks This Weekend

11–12 July Near Pondersbridge

Not every listing gets a golden ticket

We check the usual frankly silly number of local websites, then look for events that feel rainy-day friendly: cinemas, theatres, talks, workshops, galleries, concerts, cosy venues, and anything less likely to involve standing in a muddy field making brave weather noises.

Happening Saturday 11 July to Sunday 12 July.
Picked for Pondersbridge, not somewhere halfway across the county.
Only Local Gems and Curated venues make the cut, because standards are still a thing.
Listings with proper descriptions get bumped up the list. Three words and a shrug will not do.

Youth Group1

Youth Group

at St Mary's Church

The youth Club meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month and involves fun, games and food. I travel around the world but never leave the corner. What am I? This and other riddles and word puzzles formed part of a treasure hunt during a recent Youth Club. New members are always welcomefrom the ages of 10 to 14. Anyone interested in attending can contact either Janette Jones-Pipe or Revd Michael and we will be happy to welcome you to the next meeting. Please speak to us on Sunday or drop an email to either Janette on or Michael on We start usually with something relating to church - we might look at a bible reading or part of a service. This is followed by a general chat over "breakfast" which usually involves pancakes and cream. After this there is some sort of activity, this might be a craft, a puzzle or a table top game. Recent activities include a treasure hunt using word riddles; making key rings; a code breaker game; a bowling tournament and baking shortbread to raise money for Christian Aid.And to answer the question at the beginning - - I'm a stamp!!
