Stotfold sits quietly in Bedfordshire, a bit like a well-kept secret that refuses to stay hidden forever. There are always activities popping up near the village green or down by the local shops. The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown : A Human Perspective

Arthur Brown is synonymous with his 1968 hit “Fire” and the Hammond-driven “Crazy World” line-up which spawned it. However, his ‘God of Hellfire’ burned out fast and, in 1970, he returned with a new project: the prog-festival freak-show Kingdom Come followed by a varied solo career. Those initial four band albums, by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and by Kingdom Come are thrilling, as tend to be Brown’s cameos on other peoples’ projects. Best known for his flamboyant theatrical performances and his powerful, wide- ranging operatic voice. He has been a major influence on a wide range of musicians due to his outstanding vocal ability and wild stage persona and concepts. He is considered a pioneer of shock rock and progressive rock and influential on heavy metal music. He associated with Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Klaus Schultze and Alice Cooper and made a cameo appearance in the cult film “The Committee” and also “Tommy”. His countless collaborations include The Alan Parsons Project, The Stranglers and The Prodigy. His best-known single “Fire” hit number 1 in the UK singles chart and Canada, and a number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album “The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown” had top ten success on both sides of the Atlantic.

Celebrating the 50-year anniversary of PUNK In celebration of the 50-year anniversary of the genre that sparked a musical revolution, Club 85 are delighted to present a mix of established and emerging Punk bands! All bands will be playing for free, with proceeds going to Club 85 to keep this precious venue and grass roots local live music scene alive, so please come and support!! CHRON GEN released their debut EP Puppets of War in 1981 which sold 40,000 copies and they went on to release further singles – Reality, Jet Boy Jet Girl and Outlaw. They toured extensively across Europe, UK and the USA, appeared on front covers of the music press and their debut album Chronic Generation charted. The critically acclaimed “Nowhere to Run” was released in 1983. Going back to their roots in 2026, Chron Gen will be performing key dates in London at the  Vive le Rock magazine anniversary gig in May, and also the 30th anniversary of the incredible Rebellion Punk Festival in August S*M*A*S*H, from Welwyn Garden City came to prominence in the early 90s. In 1994, they released their debut album and scored a hit single, appearing on ‘Top of The Pops’ and on the covers of NME and Melody Maker. A decade after imploding in 1996, they reformed and made two more albums before Salv left in 2018. Ed Borrie and Rob Hague continue to perform as S*M*A*S*H with Simon Parry on bass.

China Crisis are an English pop/rock band formed in 1979 in Kirkby, near Liverpool, Merseyside with a core of vocalist/keyboardist Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon. China Crisis were originally assimilated in the batch of new wave Liverpool acts of the late 1970s and early 1980s, led by OMD and also including The Teardrop Explodes, A Flock of Seagulls and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. China Crisis had huge success in the United Kingdom in the early 1980s with five Top 40 singles and three Top 40 albums, as well as commercial success worldwide.
