Crochet requires a level of dexterity in their fingers that usually hasn't formed before age 8. We want children to have the best experience and not be put off learning this skill. In this workshop children will learn basic crochet stitches including chain stitch, slip stitch, double crochet, half treble and treble crochet. They will be encouraged to combine these stitches to make a basic shapes such as squares, circles, flowers, love hearts. Children will be guided on choosing yarns and colours and shown some examples of things that they can go on to make using their shapes e.g. flowers, hanging decorations, blankets, toys. All materials are provided, however if your child already has crochet hooks and yarn please feel free to bring them along.
