Tonja Gressley-Steele, owner of Blackberry Primitives, has been part of the textile industry for over 25 years. She is known for combining hand-dyed wools and linens with antique textiles in her wool appliqué designs, often drawing directly from historic pieces to inspire her color palette. For this collaboration, Tonja has created Eliza’s Work Roll—a generously sized tri-fold work roll designed to hold all of your sewing “needful” things. She selected her favorite motifs from Eliza’s sampler and reinterpreted them in a charming folk-art sampler, rendered entirely in appliqué. The finished project measures 12" x 19" when opened. Your project kit will include a NEW hand-dyed linen color, created exclusively for this project and inspired by the original antique work roll. In addition, the kit features hand-dyed wool, antique fabric, hand-dyed velvet, and ribbon selected especially to complement the design. To Bring: Fabric or antique scraps in Indigos, Madder Brown or Shirting. Any favorite bits to personalize your piece you want to add in. Hand sewing kit. Price includes kit and lunch.
