‘Living Around the World’ is the title of a talk being given by Rebecca Poston at Wickham Market Library on Wednesday 17th June. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. FREE entry, donations welcome. Numbers are restricted due to space so please arrive early to avoid disappointment. There will be drinks and nibbles and a raffle. The event is organised by The Friends of Wickham Market Library.

Summer Market on The Hill at Wickham Market

Summer Market in Wickham Market with a Chilled Vibe The village of Wickham Market is only 20 minutes from the Suffolk coast and five miles from both Woodbridge and Framlingham. It’s a lively village with a strong community spirit, known for its large seasonal markets, popular independent shops, a recently restored pub, and cafes. Wickham Market’s Summer Market on Saturday 20th June, 9am-2 pm, will host 40 artisan makers, producers, growers, and community groups, and visitors will be able to browse a wide range of textiles, jewellery, gifts, homeware, books, vegetables, and flowers. Food and drink stalls will include Mikey & Jordy’s Ice Cream van, serving a selection of frozen treats, Woodlands Gourmet Fudge, Burt’s Bakes and the Waffle Wagon. Quaynotes, a local folk trio that performs a gentle blend of songs and traditional melodies, will take part in the event. They have a particular fondness for sea shanties and frequently appear at maritime festivals. Free shopping bags for visitors will be available to encourage the reduction of single-use plastics at the Summer Market. Wickham Market Parish Council warmly invites visitors, holidaymakers, and villagers to enjoy this special event.

Wickham Market Annual Village Show

Wickham Market Annual Village Show Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd August 2026. The 75th year of the Wickham Market Village Show for 2026 will take place in the Village Hall this summer on 1st and 2nd August 2026. The theme for 2026 will be ‘British Birds’ This theme will be reflected in some classes in the categories of photography, cookery, floral, children and youth, arts and crafts. There will be a few changes to the vegetable, flowers and other produce classes – see schedule for details. The schedule (listing the classes) with entry forms will be ready for pickup at local businesses, the primary school, and locations in Wickham Market. If you are able to help either with extensive preparations for the show or over the weekend (setting out signage, tables, and displays; serving café refreshments; tending the raffle; looking after parking; welcoming visitors; packing away), please get in touch (details below). Offers of cake baking for the café are welcome, as are raffle gifts and items for the tombola stall.
