Harvest Market on The Wickham Market

Wickham Market’s Harvest Market on Saturday, 12th September, will celebrate the start of autumn and will bring together 35 talented producers and makers, offering a diverse range of produce, gifts, homeware, and crafts, making this event a showcase of community creativity. There will be a tempting selection of food and drinks, and local musician Craig Lucas will be performing during the event. Free reusable shopping bags will be handed out to shoppers to fill with goodies as Wickham Market Parish Council with support from East Suffolk Council are assisting stallholders in reducing their use of single-use plastic carrier bags. Wickham Market has cafes, takeaways, a community pub, independent shops and businesses. Coming to the Harvest Market gives visitors and locals alike a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the harvest and support local suppliers.

Christmas Market on The Hill, Wickham Market

On Saturday, 28th November, the sounds of singers, the smell of hot food, and the sight of 40 stalls on The Hill at Wickham Market’s Christmas Market will officially kick off the village’s Christmas preparations. The independent businesses around The Hill will be joined by 40 skilled makers and producers, bringing together a truly local Christmas Market. From hot sauce to spice up your sprouts to small-batch beers from Felixstowe, and handmade gifts to organic skin care products, wreaths and decorations, visitors to the market will find a treasure trove of unique Christmas gift ideas. For some, Christmas shopping is a real chore, but Wickham’s Christmas Market makes it a fun and uplifting experience for the whole family. The people who run the stalls are often the same ones who craft their products in workshops and small kitchens, creating a unique and personal connection to each item, A visit to Santa’s grotto (organised by the school PTA) is a must for children. For the adults, Nigel Ashcroft will be singing Christmas classics, and the primary school choir will perform to enhance the festive atmosphere. The outdoor Christmas Market will be held from 9am to 2pm on Saturday, 28th November, at The Hill in Wickham Market. Paid parking is available in nearby car parks. Wickham Market Parish Council organises the Christmas Market and is assisting stallholders in reducing their use of single-use plastic carrier bags.
