Join Our Upcycled Costume Jewellery Workshop: Kilt Pin & Bangle Makeover Your tutor, Pippa, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing a relaxed, creative afternoon of jewellery upcycling; turning forgotten preloved costume jewellery into something unique, wearable and completely your own. Come and redesigning your upcycled costume jewellery into beautiful new pieces with a fresh purpose. What You’ll Do Learn how to safely take apart old costume jewellery Experiment with layout and placement to create a brand-new design Create your own decorated kilt pin and upcycled bangle Use simple jewellery-making tools to shape and assemble your pieces Discover how to combine beads, charms and found objects in exciting ways You Will Explore Design ideas and easy layout “hacks” to help your jewellery look balanced How to use pliers confidently for jewellery making Filing and shaping small elements Light hammer work for simple jewellery techniques How to make basic jewellery findings, including: Jump rings Fasteners Bead connectors Ways to develop your ideas so you can keep making at home This Workshop is Perfect for • Complete beginners … Please note: we will be working with small pliers and small components, so this workshop is best suited to those with some fine motor ability.

Crafty Wellbeing and Connections is a gentle, creative Thursday morning session designed to help you unwind, meet others and enjoy the simple joy of making. Each week you’ll explore accessible craft activities in a relaxed, friendly space where you can slow down, switch off and reconnect with yourself and the people around you. These gentle, no‑pressure sessions are perfect whether you’re completely new to crafting or simply looking for a mindful pause in your week. They offer space to learn, experiment and enjoy being part of a caring, creative community. By the end of the morning, you’ll leave with your very own piece of embroidery with a difference, a sense of achievement and the warm feeling that comes from spending time with others in a positive, creative environment. Everyone is welcome, just bring yourself and an openness to explore. Thank you to Foundation Derbyshire, Erewash Small Grants by Erewash Voluntary Action and our wonderful volunteers for helping make these sessions possible. Together, you’ll explore the beauty of fresh flowers through drawing flowers and exploring mixed media, taking time to slow down, observe and create in a supportive environment. Our Crafty Project Club in Ilkeston, runs every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm at Our Crafty Place, 1 Corporation Road. For just £5 per session. Community - Sea Glass Art

IMPORTANT INFORMATION Booking your place is essential so we can prepare materials and make everyone feel welcome. If you’ve booked but can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else. Come and join Viv and Kate for a relaxed and friendly creative session where you’ll have the chance to try your hand at making a sea glass picture. This is a gentle, three-hour afternoon designed to help you slow down, switch off from everyday stresses and fully immerse yourself in the joy of making. You’ll enjoy a calm, supportive atmosphere focused on social connection, mindfulness and creativity, where there’s no pressure to be perfect … just plenty of encouragement, laughter and time to explore something new. Whether you’re completely new to crafting or simply fancy trying a different technique, this session is all about learning, experimenting and having fun together. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll not only have new skills and something handmade to be proud of, but also a sense of calm, achievement and connection with others. Everyone is welcome, just bring yourself and your enthusiasm to create. You will be making a small picture using pieces of sea glass.

Drawing with Confidence - 3 Week Course

Kate Sketching a Leaf This session is part of a 3-week course – Booking covers all 3 dates. A generous donation means you can join this workshop at a fraction of the cost – don’t miss out!Book the full course here The Course Have you ever felt that drawing ‘wasn’t for you’ because of something said years ago? And yet, perhaps you’ve quietly admired other people’s sketches, wondering if you might be able to do the same. If so, and if you’re curious, a little unsure, but willing to give it a go, then Drawing with Confidence is designed especially for you. This three-week course welcomes complete beginners and anyone who feels nervous about starting. You don’t need experience or natural “talent” … just a willingness to turn up and try. Many people discover that drawing isn’t about being good or bad; it’s about learning to see, to slow down and to enjoy the process. You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly group of like-minded people, all exploring together in a relaxed, encouraging environment. There is no judgement here … only patience, reassurance and space to grow at your own pace and set you on a path of drawing with confidence. Throughout the course, your tutor Kate will gently guide you, offering clear instructions as well as plenty of encouragement, so that gradually you can build trust in your own marks and ideas.
