Join Our Flower Drawing & Mixed Media Workshop: A Day of Floral Creativity Your tutor, Faye, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing a relaxed and inspiring day of flower drawing and creative exploration with mixed media. Together, you’ll explore the beauty of fresh flowers through drawing flowers and exploring mixed media, taking time to slow down, observe and create in a supportive environment. What You’ll Do Sketch from beautiful fresh flowers, observing shape, line and detail Build confidence using pencils, pens and felt tips Explore creative techniques inspired by botanical and contemporary artists Create your own mixed media floral artwork using paper and collage Develop your ideas into a personal and expressive final piece You Will Explore Observational drawing techniques for flowers and natural forms Mark-making, line and composition Creative responses inspired by the artists: Mary Delany and Yellena James Working with tissue paper, black card and vibrant pens Colour, pattern and expressive detail in floral art This Workshop is Perfect for • Complete beginners• Anyone who enjoys drawing, flowers or creative experimentation• Those looking for a relaxing, mindful art day• People wanting to build confidence in sketching and mixed media No experience is needed.

Crafty Wellbeing and Connections is a gentle, creative Thursday morning session designed to help you unwind, meet others and enjoy the simple joy of making. Each week you’ll explore accessible craft activities in a relaxed, friendly space where you can slow down, switch off and reconnect with yourself and the people around you. These gentle, no‑pressure sessions are perfect whether you’re completely new to crafting or simply looking for a mindful pause in your week. They offer space to learn, experiment and enjoy being part of a caring, creative community. By the end of the morning, you’ll leave with your very own piece of embroidery with a difference, a sense of achievement and the warm feeling that comes from spending time with others in a positive, creative environment. Everyone is welcome, just bring yourself and an openness to explore. Thank you to Foundation Derbyshire, Erewash Small Grants by Erewash Voluntary Action and our wonderful volunteers for helping make these sessions possible. Our Crafty Project Club in Ilkeston, runs every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm at Our Crafty Place, 1 Corporation Road. For just £5 per session. What to Expect at Our Crafty Project Club This friendly weekly club brings people in Ilkeston together through craft, community, and companionship. Community - Sea Glass Art

IMPORTANT INFORMATION Booking your place is essential so we can prepare materials and make everyone feel welcome. If you’ve booked but can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else. Come and join Viv and Kate for a relaxed and friendly creative session where you’ll have the chance to try your hand at making a sea glass picture. This is a gentle, three-hour afternoon designed to help you slow down, switch off from everyday stresses and fully immerse yourself in the joy of making. You’ll enjoy a calm, supportive atmosphere focused on social connection, mindfulness and creativity, where there’s no pressure to be perfect … just plenty of encouragement, laughter and time to explore something new. Whether you’re completely new to crafting or simply fancy trying a different technique, this session is all about learning, experimenting and having fun together. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll not only have new skills and something handmade to be proud of, but also a sense of calm, achievement and connection with others. Everyone is welcome, just bring yourself and your enthusiasm to create. You will be making a small picture using pieces of sea glass.

And yet, perhaps you’ve quietly admired other people’s sketches, wondering if you might be able to do the same. If so, and if you’re curious, a little unsure, but willing to give it a go, then Drawing with Confidence is designed especially for you. This three-week course welcomes complete beginners and anyone who feels nervous about starting. You don’t need experience or natural “talent” … just a willingness to turn up and try. Many people discover that drawing isn’t about being good or bad; it’s about learning to see, to slow down and to enjoy the process. You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly group of like-minded people, all exploring together in a relaxed, encouraging environment. There is no judgement here … only patience, reassurance and space to grow at your own pace and set you on a path of drawing with confidence. Throughout the course, your tutor Kate will gently guide you, offering clear instructions as well as plenty of encouragement, so that gradually you can build trust in your own marks and ideas.
