Get the full details

Join us to create your own set of ceramic poppyheads. You will be guided step-by-step on the making process to create the basic structure, then you will have the opportunity to be creative and add details and texture to create your own version. There will be lots of inspiration and guidance on hand, plus full use of cutters and moulds. Once dried and kiln fired after about 2 weeks, you will be invited back at your convenience to add colour with our glazes. Alternatively you can leave instructions of your colour choices with our teachers who can glaze them for you. After another kiln firing your finished pieces will be available for collection. This workshop is suitable for beginners. Adults only. Please note we cannot refund or transfer any booked places until they are refilled. If you wish to use our Tearoom you must book via our website as we cannot guarantee availability on the day.

This is an evening Open Studio Access which allows you to come and use the pottery workshop facilities to create your own makes.  This can be hand-building projects or on the potters wheel.  You can come for 2 or 4 hours.  This is not a taught session so although our Pottery Teachers will be on hand for support and advice they will not teach one-to-one. If you book for 2 hours please email to let us know what time you will be attending so we can ensure enough room for everyone. From February 2026 we are changing the structure of our Open Access sessions. You must buy your clay from us (the cost includes your clay, glazes and 2 firings). Sessions fees will are being reduced. Please note our Tearoom closes at 5pm and refreshments will not be available during this session.
