Unfurling the Creative – Taster Session

An introduction to the restorative and healing power of creative practice. Feel creative but a little stuck or uninspired? Long for more space, calm, or meaning in your week? Believe you’re “not creative” but are curious to explore? This session is run by Louise Durham, Occupational Therapist and glass artist. We’ll explore simple, accessible creative exercises designed to spark playfulness, curiosity, and joy. What to Expect: Each session is built around simple, accessible creative practices — cutting and sticking, tearing and layering, mark-making and printing. Sounds childish? That’s entirely the point. This isn’t about technique or producing impressive work. It’s about creating alongside others without judgement or pressure to get it right. Participants must be at least 16 years old to attend this event. £30. This 2 hr session Includes all materials. Deep Relaxation Sound Journey Session

DEEP RELAXATION SOUND JOURNEY SESSION Friday 24th July | 7pm-8pm Rebalance yourself with sound Listen to the calming sounds of a variety of gongs, singing bowls and gentle percussion in a therapeutic sonic experience for relaxation and well-being. Sound and well-being Its important to make time for ourselves, and to look after our wellbeing. These sessions use a range of large gongs, played in a gentle and sensitive manner to help achieve a deep sense of relaxation and meditation which can help to restore the mind and body back to equilibrium. It is a great pleasure to have provided regular monthly sound sessions at Cowdray for over 5 years in this stunning and tranquil location. I bring a wealth of experience with sound and also having been a musician for over 40 years, this combined with my personal approach to playing the gongs which has been an integral part of my own life path. Using a unique multi-sensory approach to make every session a powerful and varied sonic journey through sound which reaches far beyond the normal soundbath experience. RYA Marine Radio SRC Course & Exam

Stay connected and safe at sea with the RYA Marine Radio SRC (Short Range Certificate) Course & Exam at Sussex Yacht Club. This one-day course covers all essential aspects of VHF radio operation, GMDSS procedures, and marine communication regulations. You’ll gain hands-on experience with voice procedures, DSC controllers, and emergency protocols for distress, urgency, and safety situations. The course includes both a written and practical exams. Successful participants receive an RYA SRC Certificate, typically issued within four weeks. No prior experience is required, though some home study is recommended. This course is perfect for skippers, crew, and anyone planning offshore or coastal passages, this course ensures you can communicate confidently and legally at sea. The course cost includes the course book (G31) which will be sent to you prior to the course date. There is an exam fee of £76 per person is payable directly to the RYA prior to the course date.
