Under the expert guidance of Wendy Darby, you’ll learn the delicate craft of flower pressing—discovering how to harvest, prepare, and preserve flowers to create beautiful, lasting pieces. Spend the day surrounded by the stunning blooms of the flower farm, selecting your own flowers to press, and working with pre-pressed petals and leaves to craft unique cards, gifts and more. Whether you’re a nature lover, a creative soul, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this workshop is the perfect way to unwind and be inspired. Plus, you’ll take home your own personal flower press and a collection of pressed flowers to continue your creative journey, as well as leaving with your finished artwork! Subjects covered: • How to select and harvest fresh flowers for pressing • Using different flower press techniques and equipment • How to store your pressed flower collection for later work • Creating and mounting pressed flower designs Tutor: Wendy Darby, is a qualified teacher, designer and crafter. She has had a varied and eclectic career, both nationally and internationally, which she draws upon for her crafting and design inspiration. She is also a qualified Garden Designer, encompassing the phrase ‘inspired by the Garden’ in almost everything she undertakes.

Fused Glass Poppies with Jazz Dixon

@ Standard Price Join expert glass artist, Jazz Dixon for a craft class with a difference. Learn to create your own beautiful glass poppies, suitable for indoor or outdoor display. You will be welcomed with refreshments before Jazz gives a short introduction to glass fusing and the wide range of techniques used. You will be introduced to the projects and have time to think about your own creative ideas. You will have a choice of colours, from traditional red, or a small selection of other colours. You will be introduced to glass cutting, and with expert guidance, you will cut and shape your glass to create the petals for your flowers. Following a break for lunch (please bring a packed lunch with you), you will construct your two poppies, with the opportunity to use accessory glass to add details to your flowers. Once you have finished your 2 flowers, you will have the opportunity to use the off cuts of glass to create smaller floral hanger. All the tools and safety equipment will be supplied alongside expert tuition. Your pieces will be taken away and fired. They will be available for collection from West Sussex or East Sussex, or can be posted to you (at your own risk) once completed. The 3d flowers are suitable for indoor or outdoor display, and come with sturdy black stems. Christmas Sparkle in Fused Glass Christmas Decorations

Join our festive fused glass workshop and create your own beautiful Christmas decorations! Enjoy a fun, creative day making unique pieces for your tree and home while getting into the Christmas spirit. Plan of the Day: We will start with a brief talk and introduction to fused glass and the range of materials available. We will look at the different types of glass fusion and how the material can be used to create different types of designs. There will be lots of materials available and you will be encouraged to play and create your own unique designs. After our introduction you will chose the projects you wish to work on. You can choose from a Christmas tree or an s curved Christmas panel, or a tealight holder/bowl. You will learn how to cut and break glass safely to create your design, using a range of colours, with the help and guidance from the expert. Your second project of the day will be to create up to 3 small tree decorations. You will have a choice of materials and a range of designs to inspire you as you create your own personal pieces. Jazz will then take your designs for firing, and your finished decorations will be posted to you within approximately three weeks—in time to enjoy in the build up to Christmas! Tutor: Jazz graduated as a BA Hons Designer Maker from the University of Brighton, specialising in glass. For many years she taught design and crafts to children and now she teaches glass techniques to adults.
