Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, adapted by Oliver Gray. Carlo Collodi’s classic is a perennial favourite. It is the third most translated book in the world, having appeared in no fewer than 260 languages since it was published in 1883, and has never been out of print. Childless toymaker Geppetto buys a piece of wood to make a puppet – little realising the chaos he is about to unleash. The puppet yearns for adventure and runs away, but instead of excitement only finds glorious attractions containing hidden dangers. He returns home hoping to be showered with sympathy and learns his tribulations...

About the event Come along to Loughborough Town Hall, from 10am – 3pm, as we set-sail ready for this year’s Panto Funday to get the whole family excited for the upcoming Dick Whittington pantomime this Autumn with FREE activities galore for all ages including; · Backstage tours*: Ever wondered what actually happens behind the scenes in a professional theatre? Now’s your chance to snoop around a real working theatre and see how the magic is made in real life. Please note there is a £2 fee for Backstage Tour tickets. Tours must be pre-booked and are available on a first come, first served basis. Backstage Tour start times: 11am, 11:45am, 1pm, 1.45pm and 2.15pm and last for approximately 40 minutes. Book your spot on a tour here • Meet The Panto Cast: Say hi, grab a selfie, and meet member’s of this year’s Dick Whittington pantomime cast. • Treasure Hunt: get ready to search far and wide across Loughborough Town Hall to find the clues to unlock the golden treasure! • Dance Workshops* – come join us for a high-energy session that’s suitable for all ages and abilities! (in conjunction with BrightLights Theatre School). Dance Workshops must be pre-booked and are available on a first come, first served basis.
