Amethyst: An Evening of Soul

Amethyst makes music to feel. Warm, groove-laden and deeply soulful, her sound weaves rich jazz vocals with modern R&B and timeless instrumentation, creating something that feels both tender and cinematic. Think Sade at her most intimate, Lianne La Havas at her most alive. An artist who makes a room feel as if it were built just for her voice - join us for her PizzaExpress Live debut. London-based Amethyst is part of a vital new generation reshaping the sound of UK soul. Classically trained from the age of four, she blends modern R&B production with old school soul instrumentation and a luscious, jazz leaning vocal, drawing on influences from Ella Fitzgerald, Donny Hathaway and Gregory Porter to Beyoncé, Lianne La Havas and Jazmine Sullivan. Rooted in honesty and emotional depth, she lets vulnerability and strength coexist in her writing, exploring important and often underrepresented themes with an emotional clarity that resonates deeply with audiences. As a live performer, Amethyst has built a reputation for commanding, soulful sets that leave a lasting impression. She has performed at Ronnie Scott's, The Ned, Sofar Sounds and The Alternative Escape, alongside three sold-out headline shows. She has also supported a string of emerging UK artists including Charles, Nia Chennai, Georgia Cécile, Loie and Saint Joshua. Her artistic development has been shaped by some of the industry's most respected voices.
