Cricket & The Freebugs: Bugs at Work (Edinburgh Preview)

It's 1972 and one bug band is about to change music forever. These five funky bug musicians are coming to you live with the true story of the greatest band you've never heard of. As featured on BBC's The One Show, this Pixar-style musical comedy invites everybuggy into a world of 70s talking insects. Tune in your antennae as five bug-actor-musicians tell the tale of a cricket with nothing but a trumpet and a dream of hitting the bug-time. Funk, soul and heart for old bugs and kids alike. The Freebugs is made up of a group of local professional actors who first met in drama school just down the hill from Jacksons Lane. The show has its roots in workshop showings around Haringey and Islington and the bugs are very excited to be sharing it with the local insect community again before taking it on the road! Smashing Time – A tribute to the Television Personalities

My Little Underground, Ventil and Tapete Records present: Smashing Time – A tribute to the Television Personalities An evening to celebrate the songwriting genius of Daniel Treacy and the TV-Personalities - both in word and sound. The evening will start with a Q&A session on Dan Treacy, TVPs and the just released lyrics book „If I Could Write Poetry“ (published by Ventil). Hosted by Travis Elborough, the panel will hold ex-TVPs members Jowe Head and Dave Musker, Dan's music therapist Melissa Heathcote and book editor Gregor Kessler. The talk will be followed by a full set of TV-Personalities songs from all periods performed by a band consisiting of former band-mates Jeff Bloom, Dave Musker, Mike Stone, Lee McFadden and Jowe Head. They will be joined on stage by various singers performing their favorite TVPs songs. There’ll be an after-show party fully dedicated to the TVPs. Tickets here: www.wegottickets.com

Ledfoot, aka Tim Scott McConnell, is an American artist and songwriter who has lived in Norway since 1993. He has toured, written and released music for over 40 years in bands such as The Havalinas and The Rockats, and he has released a number of solo albums Wrote and performed music for Exit season 2 (NRK 2021) and season 3(NRK 2023) Acted in ‘Exit’ seasons 1 & 2 Awarded the Spellemann (Norwgian Grammy) (blues) in 2022 for ‘Coffin nails’ Nominated for Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy) (blues) in 2021 for ‘Black Valley’ Awarded the Spellemann Prize (Norwegian Grammy) (blues) in 2019 for ‘White Crow ’ Bruce Springsteen recorded a cover of his song ‘High Hopes’ (2014) and played it live on tour The Havalinas toured with artists such as Bob Dylan, Tina Turner and The Cramps. Pink Floyd ReWorked

Pink Floyd Reworked is an innovative performance that will Breathe new life into classics tracks from The Dark Side of the Moon and many others from the legendary catalogue, featuring Mark Roadnight (Simply Dan) and Mark Armstrong (professor of Jazz at the Royal college of music and former MD of NYJO). Mark Roadnight (Simply Dan) and Mark Armstrong (professor of Jazz at the Royal college of music and former MD of NYJO) while playing a show together had a crazy idea. They decided to put together a show featuring Dark Side of the Moon and other Pink Floyd classics with an electric band plus a full 15 piece big band. Mark Armstrong has written completely new horn arrangements for the songs, and the band will feature top session and recording artists and some of the most well-known horn players on the London jazz and big band scene. The live band will include members of George Michael and Amy Winehouse’s band, Simply Dan, Simply Us + Them. This will be the first time this show has ever been played, and we are looking forward to bringing a new style and energy to these Pink Floyd classics while still keeping the bands original live feel.
